Ocean Prime Detroit

Had a great birthday dinner with family the other night. The entire meal was a delight. I had the grouper, it was very good but the culinary show stealer was the chop chop salad. What a flavorful and visual treat, said the guy who can usually care less about salads. Another delicious surprise were the gouda stuffed tater tots. These bad boys are made in house, not store bought and sprinkled with cheese. Finished the night with a chocolate peanut butter pie. That pie was big and should be shared with your dining partner, both because of its size and it's rich flavor. My only irritant on the night was the low mood lighting. Why Ocean Prime, and other restaurants, do this is beyond me. I hate having to turn on my phone's flashlight just to read a menu. Our population is aging and low light does not make fine dining any more enjoyable. Enough old man griping, enjoy your dinner folks.

Was with a group of 11 people and nobody complained. My steak was cooked just right. Service was excellent.

Top shelf in every respect.

Not worth the price. Feels like a chain, middle-of -the-road restaurant just dressed up fancy. Food was sub par. People and staff are great but just expected more from the food.
