Ampeleia is, above all, a biodynamic farm home to 86 acres of vineyards, 133 acres of woods, 79 acres of pasture, 3.5 acres of olive groves, vegetable gardens, and an orchard, 6 cows, and a dozen chickens. Elisabetta Foradori, along with her friends Giovanni Podini and Thomas Widmann, manage the farm and make the wine. A female winemaker in Tuscany! Unlitro is made from fruit from their younger vines and comes in a 1L size, which should be standard in our opinion.
Sometimes, when wine is produced with little to no control, it can get a little wild and funky -- even "flawed". This can turn people off of natural wines but fear not, this is not that wine. Unlitro has a beautiful bright red fruit flavor, a little spice, and mouthwatering acidity. It's the summer red we can't quit. Enjoy with a caprese salad or homemade pizza.
