The food was very tasty. I feel the corn could have been cooked just a little longer and a side of honey butter would be superb lol. Other than that very good will definitely come back again
We were excited to try this seafood joint and ordered on Uber eats. 1 basket (4 items) was $53 and we ordered 2 orders of hush puppies pushing it to over $60. When the Uber driver picked up the order, he specifically asked if ALL ITEMS were included. Evidently, the restaurant was closing and the driver was told it was all complete. Nope! No hush puppies. Food itself was generally good (no tartar sauce, no Cole slaw????). Oak City would do well to ensure ALL orders are done with fidelity no matter the time. Am hopeful they’ll reach out to me to make this right. Perhaps I’ll eat there again?
Saw on line about this place, decide to give it a try. The fry fish is very good, crispy not greasy; but the calamari is pretty disappointing, they are small, no taste, and too few for the price, we spent $35+ for two dish without drink. For the amount of food I sure think it's over priced. Parking: A lot of pay parking lot near by, parking is not a problem
My girlfriend and I went to Morgan St Food Hall on Saturday, February 3rd to go to Aunt Betty's Gin Bar. Beforehand, we decided to grab some food since some places were still open. I'd been raving about how amazing Oak City Fish and Chips looked on Instagram so we ended up choosing to go there. Unfortunately, it was a huge mistake. From the service to the food, it was all an experience I do not wish to ever repeat. The cashier was rude, brash, and got our order wrong numerous times (he kept trying to add more items to make the bill higher?) We both thought he seemed like he was inebriated -- and at one point, he left the register completely, leaving just the poor cook in the back to man the whole stall. We waited a good ten minutes and when our order was ready it was, naturally, completely wrong. We asked for it to be fixed which they did, promptly. When the cook handed us the food, he told us he didn't really know how to fry oysters so they were a mess. And to make everything even worse, they didn't have tartar sauce (or any sauce really). The fried oysters were 100% the worst fried oysters I have ever eaten and the fish wasn't much better. The shrimp were okay at best, as were the fries. If you go to Morgan St. Food Hall, there are tons of amazing places. This isn't one of them. I feel like I wasted a lot of money here considering their prices are pretty high. The batter was bland and it was so salty and dry without any kind of sauce. If you want good fish and chips, just go down the road to Carolina Ale House. They're much better and cheaper.
too pricey and my food was not that great. It looked and taste scorched.
We order quad basket large ,fish, scallops, shrimp and two small coke. It was about 50 dollars it was a good portion of food and the fish taste fresh in my opinion.
Great service and delicious food by Jerrell. Highly recommend this place!
