Not Your Average Joe's - Bethesda

New to the area, looked like a nice place. Took a seat at the bar. Bartender was very nice and suggested an IPA and bang bang shrimp. Both were excellent. I decided to order dinner, Fish and chips to go. What arrived was a to go box filled with shoestring fries, Cole slaw and two nuggets of fish. I took one look and sent it back. Not going to pay $23 for that. So, for beer and happy hour snacks, good. A filling meal forget about it. The appetizers were larger portions. Never again.

These guys gave me two different reasons why my online order was taking so long - neither reason was the actual truth. 40 minutes later and the 3rd time I had to ask them to check my order they come back and say that they were trying to reach me through the Door Dash app to let me know that they had sold out of the chicken wings but were unable to get through (they can’t call customers directly thru the app). But why the heck they couldn’t come up front knowing I was sitting there waiting is beyond me. I observed one other person’s order that they had messed up while I was waiting. No REAL apology - the guy just told me that I wouldn’t be charged. No discounts or anything comp’d on the rest of my order I went over to Ledo’s right down the street where I should have gone to begin with for wings. They have GREAT customer service.

Food and service was amazing!!!

The food was delicious, our waitress was upstanding, and we had great cocktails.

We had two wonderful small work events at the Bethesda location and Bobby took excellent care of us making sure we had everything we needed leading up to the events. Our server, Eleanor was excellent and attentive. The appetizers were perfect and they provided fresh, warmed cookies that weren't on the menu as a final touch. We would highly recommend the venue for a small get together option and be sure to ask for Bobby who will help make the planning easy for you. Vegetarian options: Feta dip and cauliflower bites were excellent.

Ordered a burger medium and it came out of the kitchen completely burned. Not only overcooked but also with burn marks like the grill they cooked it on hadn’t been cleaned in weeks. Was literally inedible, so I sent it back. 2nd one was barely edible. Still had the burn marks that overwhelmed the burger taste, but they did cook it less time so it wasn’t as bad. Won’t be going back.

Had a great time food was deliceous and the service was great.
