My first ever visit so I bought a white sourdough, a sausage roll and a samosa. Everything I tried tasted incredible and it's very easy to understand why; everything is made from scratch and baked onsite on the day. It's very rare to find a bakery that literally produces everything from scratch and doesn't just sell/reheat massed produced items from some factory. The owner was friendly and generous with his time, despite being busy preparing various doughs. The girls serving were very polite, knowledgeable and would fill the baguettes on the spot for customers. This is a genuine local artisan bakery, run by a baker that's also a local; unlike those other 'artisans' that have branches all over the S.E of England.
The baguette was very yummy and the owner is very friendly. Highly recommended- will certainly come back again.
Owner of shop hygiene looks terrible cloths always stained and hands dirty while serving so cleanliness not for me, some food looks very mouldy and shop quiet dirty just my honest review, my mates starting feel same stop using
I first used NJB’s last year and was like wow these fillings are levels above anything else around here. Been back there all this week and it’s still a top tier sandwich shop, strongly recommend.
Anything but baguettes on weekends
While you're purchasing the bread, pies, and cakes, be sure not to overlook the various exotic chili sauces available at this bakery. The baker seems to be quite knowledgeable about them, and I've discovered new and unique ones with each visit!
The best jams on the planet. Breads are pretty good as well. Love the baguettes. It's like being back in Paris. Always great when they have weekend specials. Gibassier is my favourite.
