Norfolk Street Deli

Definitely not a deli, not even a sandwich shop or cafe. Interior looks very uninviting and when I came in they were surprised I want to order food. I had to request my simple brie and bacon ciabata order 3 times before they could understand me. The man then picked up stale piece of what looked like supermarket bought bread from the open basked and started preparing bacon and brie sandwich for me. After about 5 minutes of messing around they handed me cold bacon and brie sandwich So I had to ask twice if this can be heated Which they did, only for me to discover that it made old stale bread rock hard, ingredients cold in the middle and ingredients used are of awful quality. I enclose photo for reference, but I didn't see such cheap low quality bacon for a long time. For the price they charge supermarket meal deal is 10 times better quality. The food hygiene practices are also very questionable. I am glad I checked it before eating it and it went to bin unfortunately. I am not returning back there ever again AVOID

I came in for a takeaway Mocha and a panini. Even though it was quick service neither of the men even smiled once it looked like they didn't want to be there. The Mocha was so bitter not even sugar made it any better I ended up throwing it away. It was only about 3/4 full and for £3 you'd at least expect the cup to be full. The tuna and cheese panini tasted okay but the guys behind the counter just before getting my food out and wrapping it picked up only what I'd assume was rubbish off the floor and didn't wash his hands before handling my food. The atmosphere overall was okay a bit gloomy but I definitely would rather go to the courtyard around the corner for your coffee 100%. Very disappointed as a first time customer.

What a lovely little place. Great atmosphere, yummy drinks and fantastic gluten free cake! Will definitely be coming back for lunch soon
