Newby's was established in 1975 by David "Newby" Harsh. The restaurant changed over the years as it expanded with a full bar, pool room, large outside patio and then transforming an adjoining historic 1950s movie theater into a music venue. After suffering a stroke in 1996, Harsh sold Newby's to working bartender Todd “Too Tall” Adams in January 1997. In November 2014, Newby's closed for a year while renovating to the space you see today. The old concert hall was detached from the space. Newby’s still fills the stage with local and up and coming acts. The historic Newby’s stage has hosted acts such as Creed, Kid Rock, Zack Brown Band, and John Mayer just to name a few. The stage today still host live music every Wed - Sat night.
