The food here is very good and they have a wide choice on the menu. They do however have an annoying habit of telling you that the table is not ready to get you to order a drink from the bar. The place was literally half full and they told us we'd have to wait 20 mins. Decided to leave and come back later.
All tasted rather bland and preprepared. Poppadoms were not fresh. Madras tasted out of a packet with the smallest pieces of chicken possible. A bit disappointing to be honest.
We had a great time here. Had booked a table for 4 and we received a good welcome and were promptly seated. Service was very good and the food was excellent. We ordered tikka masala, lamb balti, lamb korma, chicken pakora and a few sides and everything tasted great. Would definitely return next time we are in leeds.
Been meaning to try this place for a long time, I would say that as someone who eats a lot of this food, and cooks it myself I am probably not the easiest to please. Nawaab did definitely not disappoint, easily the best quality and most authentic Desi / Apna style food I’ve had outside of Bradford. I asked for a Chicken Karahi with more heat and they delivered perfectly, but the big thing was just how fresh every item we ordered tasted, excellent tandoori roti too! The quality of the food along with the perfect balance of casual yet very nice surroundings and the superb, friendly staff definitely means this is now my go to place in Leeds. Cannot recommend this place enough
Brilliant authentic food. Friendly service and a great place for a curry
Quick, friendly and efficient service, and great food at a fair price: what I'd call a traditional curry. I'm glad we ate here, and I'll be back. My son and I were having a drink in The Scarborough and intending to go to another place, which I'm not that keen on. I was racking my brains for curry restaurants and couldn't think of any: Leeds has changed so much and the restaurants which I think of as "traditional" seem to have gone. Then I remembered Nawaab, and the great meals I'd had there in the past. Convenient if you're in the City Square area. We turned up at around half six without a reservation. There were quite a few customers in but we were seated within five minutes, and served quickly. The food was great - just as I'd remembered it. It's what I consider to be traditional English/Asian curry. I don't have a massive appetite, so I never eat starters: I had a chicken dansak with a plain naan. I enjoyed every mouthful. My son had a chicken makhani and said it was better than the other place we were going to go to (nothing wrong with that place, btw: it's rightly popular but I'm just not that keen on it.) I first came to Leeds as an 18-year old almost 40 years ago and, of course, it's changed so much since then. One thing I've noticed is that, now, people eat in restaurants to be 'seen'. Not that the food's bad - I'm sure it's great - but that's just how it seems to be. Nawaab's not like that: you're there for the food and the service. It's a good few years since I've eaten there, but I'm delighted to say it hasn't really changed. As I said at the top, great food, great service. If you're in that part of town and fancy a curry, go to Nawaab. Well done, guys, and keep it up. See you soon! Vegetarian options: As is the case in most curry restaurants, each type of curry has a vegetarian option.
Visited for the first time on Thursday evening and totally overwhelmed. This place is next level, food taste and quality was absolutely amazing. Service was highly attentive and friendly. Can’t wait to return on my next visit to Leeds.
