The best breakfast in Troy and really anywhere local, in my opinion. Food is made to order right in front of you. And a bonus...they are open VERY late!
The best biscuits and gravy I’ve ever had. Perfect interpretation of a classic -elevating it while retaining what makes it great. Friendly staff and a fantastic atmosphere. Bummed I’m only visiting town!
Hands down the best breakfast in the Capital Region, especially the pancakes.
Went here a little while back. Amazing food, amazing service. It was just an overall great experience. I had a party of 4 and there wasn't anymore tables that seat 4 so the waitress grabbed the bench in the waiting area and set us up. Such an amazing experience!!
Unique restaurant with open kitchen/bar/grill and an assortment of cassettes! Slightly upscale diner food. Everything we ordered was seasoned well and quickly served. Only complaint was that the home fries were cold/lukewarm. It seemed like they cooked them and then put them off to the side of the flat top to stay warm but they weren’t even close to warm when we got them. Priced well, definitely worth it for breakfast/brunch!
Holy moly the reviews of this place are legit! I had to meet a guy about a thing, and Troy was halfway between us, so we decided to bring our SOs and meet for lunch. As is my MO, I looked around for something funky and local, and stumbled upon Naughter's. The reviews sounded almost too good to be true, and it looked to be in an interesting OLD part of town. The four of us arrived at about 12:45 on a rainy Saturday, and got lucky. We were seated in about 5 minutes at the only table large enough, the glittery green booth in the front window. It's a small place, about 20 seats, with half or more at the counter. This place is a Joint, with a capital J, and I mean that in a positive, affectionate sense. It's one of a kind. It's like a speakeasy, no sign and a nondescript entrance. Inside is bright and pleasant, and the staff is friendly. The standard menu has lots of yummy choices, and the specials on the chalkboard are worth a look. This is classic diner food, but it's all prepared perfectly, and obviously with quality ingredients. Once in a while I'm somewhere and I think "man, I wish Dad was still around, he'd have really enjoyed this." Naughter's is that kind of place. As a kid we ate in lots of tiny out of the way diners and gin joints on our fishing trips, and this brought back those memories. The food at Naughter's is a notch above those old places, though. Two of us had the corned beef hash with two over easy eggs and sourdough toast, my partner had the special lox eggs benny, and the fourth had a short stack with an egg and bacon on the side. Everyone was very happy with their food. Things were flavorful and perfectly seasoned, not greasy, crispy where they should be crispy, and not crispy where they shouldn't be. The building has clearly had at least nine lives, and not all of them have been easy. The restroom is up a flight of stairs that's as steep as a ship's ladder, and the treads are worn, sloping, and slippery. At the top is a beam you will have to duck under if you are taller than about 5' 3". If you think going up sounds treacherous, wait until you try coming down. Use both handrails! It's got that very-not-to-code hard-earned character that's hard to find. If you want a very reasonably priced great tasting diner breakfast or lunch in a unique and friendly atmosphere, drop in at Naughter's.
We were in Troy for an event and stayed overnight. Looked around for a breakfast place and found Naughters. I am an RPI alum and I wish they were open when I attended! The food is amazing, the staff is friendly and the atmosphere is cozy American diner. Highly recommend!!!
Amazing little spot in downtown troy. Super cool vibes and great staff, the food is simple. Sometimes have to wait a bit as its very small inside but usually things move fairly quickly. Love the coffee refills too. Homefries, egg, toast, bacon egg and cheese are all good Cant wait to try the chopped cheese
