Contemporary Japanese with vibrant atmosphere. Considering the price range, it was like 5 stars but overall good in general. It is not traditional Japanese with loud environments, so if you are looking for something calm, might not be a good option.
Had the best experience … we had to wait in spite of having a reservation but the manager came up to us with wine for all of us and apologized and then when we were seated - we were served with 2 apps on the house and at the end an amazing dessert !!! Staff was so attentive and courteous and food was amazing as well ! Highly recommend 👍🏼👍🏼
If you're in Napa, Morimoto Napa is an absolute must-visit. The Japanese cuisine here is phenomenal, showcasing a perfect blend of tradition and innovation. Each dish is beautifully presented and bursting with flavor, making for an unforgettable dining experience.
Our server, Marie-Anne, was exceptional. She offered perfect wine pairing recommendations that elevated our meal to new heights. Her knowledge and enthusiasm truly enhanced our visit.
Manager Naten also made a great impression, checking on our table multiple times and sharing insights about the restaurant's history and offerings. He recommended the bar for after-dinner drinks, which turned out to be a fantastic suggestion.
Overall, Morimoto Napa combines outstanding food, attentive service, and a welcoming atmosphere. Whether you're a local or just passing through, make sure to add this gem to your itinerary!
We have been here many times but this was the first time we ordered sushi. It was very good, as were our other favorites - the sticky ribs, and the rock shrimp. Highly recommended.
The experience was fantastic. Staff was helpful and accommodating, and the food was excellent. Will happily revisit
Good food good atmosphere. Always fresh and tasty
Beautiful atmosphere indoor/outdoor.It’s located by the Napa River, providing a nice outdoor view. Packed on a Friday night, reservations a must. Full of stylish, trendy crowd. Good food and wine.
Nothing to write home about. Under flavored and over priced. Great atmosphere!!
Great views!! Food came out very fast and covered in sauce. If you have been to Nobu, it’s hard to eat here if you are looking for fabulous taste. But…better than PF Chang…
Got the sake flight, miso soup, garden salad, chef's sushi plate, and the eel bowl. The miso soup was great, the salad was ok and the sushi plate was disappointing. All the fish tasted waxy and not fresh. The unagi bowl was fantastic. Overall, extremely pricey for mid food though.
It took a little longer for the server to greet us, and the restaurant was empty, but the drinks were good. The food was subpar but all in all good date night spot
From the front desk host to the smells as you are being seated to the well laid out menu, the experience was near perfect. We chose something from each section of the menu and couldn’t have been more pleased. Do NOT skip over the Ishiyaki buri bop!
This was my first experience at Morimoto. After hearing so many amazing stories I was excited to try it but left so dissapointed.
Food was all just okay quality with the exception of the sashimi which was excellent. Otherwise all else was subpar. I did the omakase tasting and all the dishes were not spaced out at all (one took 45 minutes between courses and then the next was 5 minutes). The servers did not take time to explain the courses which is standard in a tasting menu. Two even brought out the food and ran away laughing. Unfortunately a disappointing experience and do not recommend.
I never visit downtown Napa without a reservation at Morimoto. The experience never disappoints and I'm always so anxious to eat I almost always forget to take any pics of their delicious and always beautifully prepared disches!!!
In order of enjoyment: Lime Ganache (loved the symphony of flavors & textures including pop rocks, foad, rice pudding & intense mango sorbet), White Luly Cocktail (yuzu), blistered shishito peppers (yuzu reduction), Buri Bip (japanese take on Korean bi bim bap), dry aged salmon, miso soup, hot tea and ice tea. We were seated in the main dining area which was pretty loud at 7:50 pm on a Sunday however as the closing time of 9 pm approached, the volume became more conducive to having a conversation. Will have to return to try the other deserts.
The food was amazing, the service was subpar.
This was the second sushi restaurant I visited this evening looking for plain old traditional sushi. This establishment is also very upscale and trendy. Food is good, bartender was very accomidating and professional. Good place to go for views and food.
