Really great Indian food. Probably my favorite restaurant in town.
Food seemed much different from what I remembered, in terms of food quality and taste. It wasn’t terrible but no way near as good as the last visit. Really didn’t get much service at all either, got there at 8pm seen two different parties there and overheard them turn away customers around 8:30 even though they close at 9:30. What happen to being customer centric!?
Lunch buffet is back! Best little hole in the wall.
Way too overpriced for the quality of the food. Food was honestly not that flavorful. If you want Indian/Punjabi food go to Hot And Cold downtown instead...
As a vegetarian seeking Indian cuisine in Lynchburg, Milan Indian Restaurant offers a decent, though somewhat limited, buffet experience. With it being one of the few Indian choices in the area, it might be worth a try if you're craving those flavors. I recently visited Milan for their weekday lunch buffet with colleagues. As a vegetarian, I was pleased to find a few dedicated vegetarian options, although the selection was noticeably smaller compared to the non-vegetarian dishes (roughly a third of the overall choices). Despite the limited variety, the vegetarian dishes I tried were flavorful. The hot tea at the end of the meal was an enjoyable touch.
Extremely unprofessional staff- after a long drive from Atlanta we stopped on our way at 1:50 pm for lunch. The attendant refused to seat us saying they stop seating at 2 pm- we showed him the time - saying it’s not 2 pm yet. Their website says they close for lunch at 2:30 pm. We just wanted to eat from the open buffet- and it would have taken just 10-15 min but the unfriendly attendant started laughing in a mockery tone. Very distasteful and bad experience- recommend staying far away from this restaurant- no need to go there. They engage in false advertising on their website- they need to correct their closing time to state 1:50 pm for seating for lunch instead of 2:30 pm- looked like the attendant hated his job and was in a rush to be somewhere else. Businesses like Milan bring wrong reputation for their community they’re trying to serve and need to close soon since they’re not happy doing their jobs.
So the food is great, no doubt. Just about everything is labeled gluten free but it definitely isn’t. My friend and I both have problems with it and have gotten sick the 2 times we’ve been. The service is also really bad. Like, the wait staff was moaning and my friend and I.. we were the only table. You have to waive them down to order and one guy essentially threw the plate of rice on the table. Also, the waiter didn’t understand “more chutney”. I get language barrier, no worries at all, but he just stared at us. Very weird. We won’t be back
