Such a cool interior that really invites you in and sets the mood. Then the food is classic Mikuni's
Food is always great. Before we got seated the host told us it may be a 10 minute wait but then we were offered service in the bar area. No biggie, so sure. Service was really fast at first with apps and drinks. When we ordered our food it literally 45/50 minutes to arrive. We may still be waiting if I hadn't flagged down another server to find out what was going on. I could see our server was also running the bar. After I asked about our food, all of it was out at the same time. And if you know Mikuni, it comes out as prepared, so not ALL at the same time. While I'm grateful for getting our food, I have to say the poor girl serving us was run ragged. She was working the bar and several tables. Not the right way to treat your people. Or customers.
Mikuni... Best sushi on the west coast... Nothing is LA is even close. San Francisco Bay area has a few contenders but literally no body beats this place, even at four times the price. This is the newest Mikuni, dangerously close to me, and I love it! Just had a few dishes, so we got out for about $40. Most of the tan transferred here from the arden fair mall store. This is a much better location, just easy of Pavilions in the former Boarders Books building, newly remodeled to be a Mikuni.
Great what they did with an old book store. Take every part of making a great night out , seriously. Food Drinks Service Atmosphere Love all their spots Will be back here for sure
Such great sushi! I forgot how great it is!!
Sunday, 1/21/2024 - Went to Mikuni (the new location). Address is 2339 Fair Oaks Blvd Suite A, Sacramento, CA 95825. Very nice inside. They have a nice large parking lot. Easy to find parking when we arrived for dinner. Upon arrival: Pros 1) they have a nice large parking lot. 2) restaurant looked clean. Silverwares, plates, bowls, cups were all clean. 3) all the sushi were good. The udon noodles dish with shrimp in it was really good. I got the zig zag rolls, it was just....meh. ok. I guess. 4) drinks were good. The did provide hot water. Water tasted good. 5) our server was nice. He checked on us a few times. 6) they do not provide anything here for birthdays, sadly. But we ordered this cheesecake deep fried in an eggroll wrap and it was delicious. They did put a birthday candle on it for me. 7) they have a spin the wheel thing. In your bday, you can spin it and get stuff. I got Mikuni chop sticks. 8) they are allow to split checks 3 way only. No more than that. 9) our server helped take a few photos of our group for us so sweet. He used two phones to take it. 10) bathroom was clean Cons 1) towards the end, our server didn't check on us anymore. We waited pretty long before he came back and took us to spin the wheel. He was still very nice tho. 2) Conclusion This location was just opened not too long ago. Beautiful inside. Sushi were all good. I'm disappointed in the Zig Zag roll. But still ate it anyways. There wasn't much flavor in the zig zag. The rest of sushi were all good. Server and staffs were nice. Spin the when is a fun touch. Love that they provided a bday candle on the deep fried eggroll cheesecake desert. I'd go here again! Try this new location, if you haven't yet
