Some of the best ramen I’ve had in Charlotte! Everything was delicious, the broth was creamy and full of flavor. The noodles were cooked perfectly. I loved the pork belly, it was soft and a bit crisp at the same time. I also loved the dumplings. It’s very simple service and you order yourself so easy enough. Will be back soon!
Great job. Keep it up! Imo their pork broth is suuuper heavy so watch out. Tastes like the mix blended lard into it. watch out about that. I’d rather then either lighten it up or make it thicker and turn it into tsukemen
No menu's. They want you to scan some code with your phone to use your phone as a menu. I did not want to as there are QR virus threats going around so I just got up and left. Sucks because I really wanted to try the place.
My first time here and it was an absolute delight. IMHO: charlotte’s ramen scene is not that good and i say it after trying ( futobota, sheng, jinya) and few others. Read the reviews and tried Hot chicken style tori katsu sando Spicy chicken wonton And spicy tantan ramen. Ramen soup was good, velvety and very rich in texture. Spicy enough to gice you the kick. Absolutely loved it Katsu sando was good in taste, chicken was good enough fried but had a lot of oil Chicken wonton - so so good, i think best i have ever had. Small quantity but really good taste. Menya is a must must try. I was there on a tuesday evening and easily got the sopt without any wait time. Vegetarian options: A few vegeterian options on menu Parking: Sometimes can be tough to find parking Look for street parking nearby
I’m a huge fan of ramen. I went out of my way to come check this place out, because the pictures look very good. They made a big deal out of not accepting cash. Seems ridiculous they won’t take US currency. It’s a new-age “hipster” style place that doesn’t really hit the mark with authenticity or good flavor…The noodles on the tan tan ramen were a little undercooked and nothing really stood out. Broth was eh. Egg was jammy, but cold center. Not gonna say it’s terrible, but there are WAY better places to eat ramen, and F$&@ them for not taking cash. Ate in 10 minutes and was ready to get out. Wouldn’t go back.
My girlfriend and I are absolutely hooked! She and I are both ramen lovers, and we have tried every place in charlotte. I also make ramen at home too, and I say that because I am still in the process of trying (and trying and trying and failing) to recreate the egg that is included in the tonkotsu red (it is the go to for both of us), because it is perfection! My girlfriend gets at least 1 extra egg every time. I love the edamame because it comes with the REAL salt. I always order the spicy chicken wonton too. We have tried almost everything on the menu but I’ll certainly surpass the character limit if I try to explain what I love about everything we’ve tried. The seating and atmosphere feel very authentic and as soon as you walk through the doors, you’re immediately transported. Something that I love (that people might not typically notice) is that they make sure the water pitchers at the table are full at all times. Never have I ever in any of the times I’ve been there had to ask for more water. Also…. I love the cups, but that’s a personal me thing hahaha Anyway! We visit so often that we have gotten to know the servers and staff- all of whom are lovely! They are definitely a huge part of the vibe that we love so much. I don’t have that many pictures but I was able to find a few in my gallery that shows our favorites! (Disclaimer: please ignore the girl dinner thing lol that is a joke I started doing ironically that has now become.. not ironic I’m afraid). I digress- if you were on the fence, get off it! Give menya a try. Parking: There is construction right now so there is less parking than there usually is. But we’ve parked other places nearby and haven’t gotten towed (knock on wood)
