TLDR: Great lunch spot! Plenty of tasty options at decent prices. Come for their lunch special. Vibe: 4/5. Megabytes is tucked away in a small business park close to the Dulles Expo Center. Inside, the cafe functions as a counter service style restaurant, where you can order directly at the counter with the staff or on tablets located at the counter. They have a decent amount of seating, consisting of both 2 and 4 top tables, so larger groups can be accommodated. Separate from the main lunch kitchen counter is a coffee bar, where you can order such drinks as Vietnamese coffee and various lattes. Lots of fun video game decor can be seen throughout the space, with a few game consoles setup on the side for those that want to hit the sticks after lunch. Restrooms are shared with the rest of the office space, so you have to exit Megabytes and walk down a hallway to find them. Service: 5/5. The staff at Megabytes was very accommodating and helpful from start to finish. When I first arrived, I was a bit confused about the ordering system ie. whether I order at the tablet or with a staff member. This was quickly remedied by one of the staff members explaining I could do either and that my order would be called out and brought to my table when ready. They also made sure to recommend the lunch special, which is well priced and offers diners a bento box style of their top sellers. The helpfulness from the staff made for an overall better experience! Food: 4/5. My table of 2 had a fantastic lunch. I ordered the pork banh mi, which comes with all the typical banh mi fixings on a crunchy baguette. The banhi was of decent size and checked all of the banh mi boxes with tender pork, rich pate and tasty pickled veggies. My friend ordered the loco moco lunch special, which includes a serving of loco moco, a spam musubi and a side of macaroni salad for $12. This was a superb deal, as the portion sizes were generous for the cost. My friend said everything tasted great and highly recommended it. We also ordered spicy pork fries to share, which were tasty, however I felt the fries portion was lacking for the $10 price tag. Overall, Megabytes is a solid lunch spot that is a perfect place to grab a quick *byte* before heading back to the office! Vegetarian options: not many options Parking: small parking lot that is shared by entire business park Kid-friendliness: plenty of kid friendly options Wheelchair accessibility: no stairs and restaurant has enough room to navigate a wheelchair
This is a hidden gem. Quirky and fun decor with electronics, and the prices for the food quality is unbeatable. You can tell this place is the owner's dream store that has a lot of love and passion put into it. Coffee bar inside is great too.
I've been eating at Megabytes for several years. It's a cool place and the food is generally good. If anything, I think their house bahn mi needs some attention. The last time I ordered one the pork was very dry and they forgot to put the Pate on it. Otherwise a great place to grab lunch, I just think some items are missing the attention to detail they used to have.
