Smile or wipe your feet type of town chippy ....its tasty portions average.... menu huge ....plenty of salt and vinegar to chuck on.... you can sit in or around the back not much competition in the frying game in old matlock....but these have been here years and yea ill go again one day ...A family sit down deal is needed as prices for familys are not cheap ...Rumble ya spuds

We've been customers here almost weekly for over 5 years. For the last 6 months or more the service has been atrocious and tonight was the final straw. We have regularly had items missing from our order and had to go back to rectify. The last time we ordered half our order was missing, went over yet again to rectify and got told we were lying and they then charged us a second time for food they hadn't added. Tonight we arrived at 16.40pm, opening time is 16.30pm, to find the door locked, both servers just stood staring at us rather than opening the door! We instead went to Wellington Street Fish Bar, where we received beautiful, well cooked food and service with a smile! (I've never actually seen any of the servers in Matlock Green smile!) Honestly, I wouldn't waste your money on awful service and shoddy food, take your business somewhere more appreciative!
