Magnolia Bakery - Chicago

I had order cake for my brother’s birthday which was on the 25th June, order nbr MB-250939 and FedEx tracking ID- 276252928592. The cake was destroyed in the delivery process. I am attaching the pictures, and you should really consider changing your vendor for the delivery. This is very disappointing.

This was my first visit here. To begin with, the service was quick and the employees were friendly. They helped me pick out desserts, since it was my first time here. Secondly, the atmosphere is spacious and you can also sit down and eat there. Lastly, the desserts had good consistency and they didn't fall apart easily. Also, they didn't taste too sweet and fulfilled my sweet tooth. Overall, a must visit bakery, even if you have to drive 30minutes. Photos below: 1. Red velvet cheesecake 2. Outside view 3. The best banana pudding ever!

I’m not sure what everyone else is tasting. I do see that majority of the reviews represent people of a particular demographic so perhaps the taste buds is just different. But I have given this bakery several chances because it’s in my nearby neighborhood and I often have a sweet tooth, and every time it has been horribly disappointing. I’ve tried their original banana pudding, chocolate banana pudding, German chocolate cake, brownies and today I’ve tried their strawberry shortcake and it all taste disgusting. It taste as if it doesn’t have a lick of sugar. It has absolutely no flavor, no richness or anything. I’m not sure what everyone else is eating and I wish I could taste the same flavors that they do because these desserts are very disappointing and it’s unfortunate because I wanted to like this place so bad. It’s a cute little bakery with a cute little nostalgic feeling, but unfortunately the desserts are disgusting..

I love magnolia don’t get me wrong but they always sold out. And very overpriced. Like You guys are in Chicago. Do not expect a large crowd? Then the store brought cookies taste nothing like the bakery ones.
