Luna Inspired Street Food

DO NOT GET FOOLED BY THE PRETTY PICTURES. The food is nothing like advertised. I rarely write reviews on google but this was such a bad experience that i have to warn others. We ordered a carne asada burrito, a smashed burger, and short rib mac and cheese. The burrito that came was made with ground meat rather than steak, the burger was overcooked and not smashed, and mac and cheese barely had cheese and tasted like dish water. Nothing was seasoned properly. Even Fries tasted like the oil has not been changed in months. My wife could not eat anything cus it was so bad so l ended up eating everything cus i hate wasting food, but now its been 2 hours since lunch and i have a horrible stomach ache which feels like food poisoning… i did not eat anything else today either so i am pretty sure its this place to blame. I now looked at the reviews and it seems like food poisoning is a common side effect of eating here. I usually don’t complain when the food is bad, it is what it is, but if multiple people get food poisoning after eating at a place then they need to know and look into what they are doing wrong. UPDATE: i have full blown food poisoning. We came Ithaca for 3 days to celebrate nye and this place completely ruined our trip……

Food takes forever, is inconsistent, overpriced, & is not enjoyable. Restaurant is extremely dirty. Service is slow and sloppy.

Food was great!! Burrito was delicious! Gouda Mac and Cheese was incredible! Burger super tasty! They have beer on draft and wine. Everything needed for a party of 16. Service was super helpful and patient with the big group of wrestling boys.

I heard many good things about Luna over the years, and when I was in Ithaca recently I decided to give it a try. Upon entering, my party and I waited at the hostess stand for a couple minutes before we were greeted, even after multiple employees passed by without acknowledging us... a little annoying, but the place seemed busy, so it wasn't a huge deal. We were told there was an available table for us, but it needed to be cleaned from previous customers. Again, busy place, so we waited a bit. Once seated, we were promptly brought water, which was nice on the hot day. While we were enjoying the water and reviewing the menus, we noticed multiple small parties entering the restaurant, talking with the hostess, and then leaving - it was strange to see this as time went on, as the restaurant had many open, large tables, and the parties entering were small (averaging 2-3 people). The waitress came to take our order; we placed our order. After about 45 minutes of waiting, another staff member came to our table and informed us... that it would be another hour or so before we received our food, as there is only one cook working. I let the staff member know that it would have been nice to be informed about this prior to being seated, as we would have gone to another establishment - I assume this was why parties were walking out of the restaurant after speaking with the hostess. My party and I decided to leave to find food elsewhere. As we were leaving the restaurant, we noticed the staff member who informed us about the wait time scolding our waitress pretty heavily (indiscernibly) in the kitchen. The restaurant is clearly understaffed, and on-site management does not seem to be helping any. I really hope things bounce back for Luna.

It's always fun to be in the company of true foodies. These people know what they're doing. Get your chew on!

I ordered the short rib Mac and cheese for delivery. Delivery took over an hour but the food was still hot. The short ribs were great, but the Mac and cheese was lacking cheese and seasoning it was very underwhelming. I had to go to Wegmans to buy salt, pepper and garlic powder to spruce it up. That helped a lot!! I'll try some of their other dishes.

Very clean and waitresses were really nice

The service at this place is awful. I would give it zero stars if I could. A guy who either owned the place or was a normal worker cared. He was very nice and attentive. Our waitress did not seem to care about our needs. My boyfriend got his food at a reasonable time but I had to wait 25 or so EXTRA minutes for mine. She did NOT go check if it was ready or not so it was probably sitting in the back for that long. His chicken sandwich was ice cold because he waited for me to get my food. I asked the waitress if my food was ready and she said “I’m not sure do you want me to go check on it?”. Obviously yes go check. Instead you should say, “I’ll go check on that for you.” Food was great but worse service of my life.
