The food has been pretty average. I have been a couple times now and was never overly impressed. Every meat item I have ordered has been over cooked. The pricing has also gotten out of control, everything is an extra fee, on top of already high pricing. Forget about a drink, you could buy a bottle of liquor for less than one margarita here, they don’t list the drink prices on the menu, so it will be a surprise when the bill comes.
We stopped here in our way from Arlington to Charles Town. Great place! It seems to be family owned or run. 100% family friendly: good prices, food to share, nice staff, lot of space, and more. The food was delicious, and the menu offered a lot of variety. Good thing they speak Spanish too.
I DONT RECOMMEND ESTING HERE. They are gonna rip you off. The prices are outrageous. I have to pay 50 dollars for a corazón margarita and a the price for a regular margarita that it’s usually 17ish margarita + one ounce of blue curazao that is not more that 10 bucks anywhere else. The bottle of blue curazao is 9.49 dollars itself. They charged 13 dollar for one ounce! That’s crazy! A a server that has experience in various tex Mex restaurants, the prices are ridiculous here. I would never come back. And not just for the margaritas, they charge us initially for a full order of 2 tamales when we just asked for one side tamal. When the food came, the server told us that the kitchen gave us 2 instead of one and we could keep that for the same price, cos that was their mistake. Parking: Somewhat difficult to find parking
The food was good and Julio was very conscientious to our needs. We love to support local mom and pop restaurants! The problem was that we were charged $23 for a skinny margarita without being told and that is more than many of their entrees cost! When I questioned it with the manager, he stood by the charge. I think that is outrageous and I will not be returning anytime soon! It was very disappointing!
Giving a 2 star because although the food was excellent the 2 times we went, integrity was lacking, which should not be overlooked. The alcohol drinks do not have prices on the menu. The first time we ordered, a regular margarita was $15 each on our bill. The 2nd time we went the waiter told me it was $9. The bill showed $11. Thinking it was $9, I went ahead and ordered a 2nd glass and noticed it came in a similar looking glass, but deceivingly smaller - half the size smaller! We ended up measuring both cups with our water and were surprised it was half less. Unfortunately would not go back because integrity should mean more.
