Longo's Ancaster

Don’t always shop at this particular grocery store, but when up in the Ancaster, ON area to shop, my wife and I make a point of going into this Longo’s Store for the sales. The meats here, are reasonable and good cuts. Excellent choice of roasts, steaks and pork chops, with fresh fish on sale. Have a nice bakery, with fresh baked goods, have large deli counter. The overall store is huge, with nice wide aisles, the staff are very friendly and accommodating to customers. Recommend this store for all your grocery needs.

Typical deceitful tactics, item on sale in flyer, morning the sale starts they're out of stock and use the textbook excuse "the supplier shorted us"

Very clean store.. They have an awesome coffee bean selection and grinder.. It's mostly what I buy here..

Unfortunately, you can't find many items and the employees don't cooperate when you ask

I signed up for a $ 25.00 charcuterie course but had to cancel the day before because I fell ill, and I didn't want to infect the others taking the course. I asked for a refund or credit. I was told that I needed to give 2 days notice. Does anyone know they are going to be sick a few days in advance? I think not. Companies like this eventually go out of business because they have lost focus on the customer. It's not the $ 25.00. It's the principle and they have lost me for life as a customer. If they could ever think that they have to consider the lifetime value of a customer vs. the value of one event like this, they could stay in business longer. The only show in town is Fortinos, and they know it. No one is ever in Longos. My lifetime value is likely $ 50k and they lost me over $ 25.00. How stupid they are..

Today was my first time visiting the longos in Ancaster. I first walked in to see a beautiful produce section and was overwhelmed with some vegetables I wasn't familiar with. Was greeted by a grey haired older gentleman with glasses and was thoroughly impressed with his knowledge and advice will recommend to friends and family happily.

We have been customers since they opened. No more. Self scanners with no help for grocery prices up and beyond Giant Tiger and more like Fortino's with out the service. Not sure how employees are treated but none look happy. We used to buy turkey burgers and specialty items here...they disappear. Only the older employees are mildly approachable. I used to really enjoy shopping here. The location is great. Not now. Won't go back to bag my own groceries again or roam around without service.
