Laughing Monk Brewing and Gastropub

I am ELATED that there is FINALLY something in SV!!! And "something" isnt to downplay, this place is AWESOME! The crew working here is fantastic; from the uber consistent and talented kitchen to the amazing beertenders and bar tenders, if youre in the area please do yourself a favor and come on in. Awesome for a weekday chill spot or a nice turn up on game day this place has it all! So the beer: it is fantastc, in a market SUPER over saturated with IPAs Monk's has an old school and authentic malt foward approach, the way beer should be. While there do offer great hazys and west coasts this place is a gem for me as a lover of classic beer. They have everything from kölsch to dubbel and please dont skip on the new kellerbier! A style rarely seen outside of germany! The London Calling Porter might be a top 10 California beer imo. The food! A little something for everyone. Best pretzel outside of bavaria and burgers to die for! Also best calamari in the county! Prime ribs special is fantastic! Street tacos tuesdays are bomb! Service is also best in the area! From Mikey at the bar whipping up the classic cocktails with a modern twist to the entire crew Hale, Conor, Charlie and Farah, I never have a bad time here! Please do yourself a favor and come on down for a pint!

I loved the atmosphere and the waiter was nice but my food honestly sucked. I got beyond steak tacos and the meat was so hard my fork couldn’t even stick into it. It was hard as a rock and dry. My husband really enjoyed his burger even though he did as for no onions on his burger and had to scrape them off. The coke was also very flat. I will be back to try some other items eventually but the tacos were not a good choice. Maybe consider a beyond beef crumble rather than chunks if they’re going to be like rocks. My husband really enjoyed the wings and the cauliflower was good as well.

Nice location and good beer. Definitely noticed some changes after it changed from Faultline to Laughing Monk. BRUNCH IS A BUST, would NOT recommend as a brunch destination and rather only go here for lunch/dinner.

The place to go in Scotts Valley. If your looking for a fun girls night or a night out with the family this is the spot to be. It has a fun environment and the food is always delicious. The service is top notch. Its always a fun time at the Laughing Monk. Shout out to the best GM around Matt Your the best!

Amazing food. Great service. Chronically understaffed, expect to wait a long time on popular nights. Prime Rib on Fridays is the best in the county.

Laughing Monk is such a great addition to Scotts Valley. We have kids and are constantly at soccer and baseball games, etc., and Laughing Monk is the perfect place to go when we want brunch or lunch before games, or dinner when I don't want to cook after. It is also a great place to gather with friends and has become our little social hub. The Manager Matt has fast become such an integral and supportive part of our community. We love Laughing Monk!

Just tried the new brunch, and the "sliders" are insanely good! They're not really sliders though, they are closer to a Benedict, and should probably be renamed, but still hits. Highly recommend the Sriracha Avocado, it's really not spicy, but fantastic nonetheless. Kid-friendliness: Greta kids menus
