We thought the food was just so so, but at the same time expensive. Seems like everything was at least $20, and not memorable. Comparing it to other Mexican food places in town, the value isn't there.
This place is one of the most clown-shoes excuses for a restaurant I've ever encountered. Searing vegetables on a flat grill is a skill they'll never possess. When I asked what type of peppers were in the salsa that tasted like a mixture of expired ketchup and pickle relish, all the server with the dorky bowl-haircut who speaks English could tell me was that it's called "chip salsa". Portion size was ridiculously small as if they're serving "gourmet" meals while 95% of the menu is frozen, tasteless garbage. What a ridiculous waste of money.
Really charming decor. Really cute chairs. Really bad food. Really bad service. Really big bill. I literally had to put the salsa from the chips onto the carne asada. La comida no estaba buena. No sabor, le faltó sazón.
I was having an awful day. I'll spare you the details. But when I came into La Poblana they were cheerful and welcomed me warmly. I ordered a tamale platter with 2 extra tamales ala carte. As I sat in the light of the setting sun eating my dinner my mind cleared and the badness of my day realized it wasn't welcome anymore. I left feeling light hearted and free of mental burden. Thank you for such a good meal.
We used to love thier food at old location , now it's changed a lot?
