La Bussola

Absolutely stunning. Carpaccio and wine is absolutely amazing.

The Sassorosso beer is good, the only thing that really was worth it. We ordered a Lasanha and it was really a small portion, it was clearly half-sliced from another plate to the serving plate (which was small) and it didn’t even fill it. Although the flavor was good, it really felt like they forget to bring the other half of the Lasanha. It seemed to us that the waitress understood our position from her reaction and even hesitantly came back to ask if we wanted bread to accompany the meal. Despite that, with the other waiter we felt he was rushing us out of there, always rounding our plates to see if he could pick them up. We just felt we needed to get out of there and order something in another place. We saw pizzas and steak being served that seemed with the appropriate portion so it might be a problem with the lasanha only.

We decided to come here on the last day of our trip to Florence. We were not disappointed! Our waitress Francesca was so welcoming and friendly! Very accommodating with our childs pushchair tucking it away protectively in the corner. We both ordered a pizza and our child some pasta and it was hands down one of the best pizzas we had in Florence! Very nice wine and pasta for our child too. If we ever get the chance to come to Florence again we will be making a beeline for this restaurant with its delicious food! This restaurant should be very proud of it's excellent chefs and wait staff.

Me, my husband, with our baby in the stroller we’re looking for a place to have a dinner. It seemed to be available table in outside area and my husband rushed to see if anybody is seated there. Me with a stroller followed him few meters away. At the entrance there were a waiter and a waitress busy and standing with their backs to the area. When my husband passed the waiter heading to check for the table, one looked at him and told to his female colleague pretty loud “what the f..k was that “ (in English). I was shocked and didn’t believe it was a comment in our direction. Straightaway the same waiter approached us and said we can’t sit there (without explanation) if we want to seat there we should check with a manager if he allows. My husband was confused and re-asked if he should ask the manager himself or waiter is going to check for him. On what waiter replied “You go check yourself”. At that moment it got clear that previous rudeness was directed towards us too. I got involved and wanted to make sure this young gentleman knows his behavior is noticed and unacceptable and said he should “watch his language”. He didn’t deny or apologize, just showed by his look he couldn’t care less. We decided not to stay for dining there after facing such unheard customer service.

The pizza is amazing and the restaurant had a lovely, quiet area to sit outside.

Unbelievable Florentine steak. We ate here last year and brought friends back from America so they could experience it! The ambiance and atmosphere is absolutely perfect, the wait staff is the best quality in the area, and the food is to DIE for. We travel very often all around Italy, and La Bussola is an absolutely amazing restaurant!!

The best restaurant we’ve had since in Florence as a group of 3. It was also the last night we would be in Florence so that restaurant was perfect. For surego here - it’s a must. Try the tiramisu sampler - best dish.
