I order 8 piece bucket of original chicken. I get home and it’s only 7 so guess which one of us gets to only have one piece of chicken tonight? The woman at the window asked if she could add more breasts and wings. Sure, I said. By extra you mean you’re going to short me? How do you not have the ability to count to 8? After eating my one piece, I’m not sure I would have had a 2nd. It was way over-seasoned and didn’t taste all that fresh. I assumed after counting to 7 that they really didn’t want to make any up fresh for me. I called the restaurant and Ricky said I could come back—heck no. Or he would write my name down and he’d see to it I got 2 pieces of free chicken. That’s the only reason I gave you a 2nd star. The useless woman at the window knew exactly what she was doing and didn’t provide me with a receipt either. She about threw my chicken at me and seemed like she just wanted me to go away. I doubt I will go back. A month or so later, at the beginning of Feb 2024, I get my free 2-piece snack. First the good: I got 2 packs of honey. Then the bad: chicken tasted greasy and like it was made hours ago. There was no crispy crust on the chicken. The breast was so dry that I thought maybe it was made yesterday then left under a heat lamp for 2 days. The biscuit was small and it was like a hockey puck. I’d be shocked if it was cooked that day. For that 2-piece snack, KFC wants almost $7.00. For that price you can get great fresh chicken at Firehouse Bar & Grill and they include homemade mashed potatoes. And you won’t get chicken that’s sat out for 30 minutes, let alone 6 hours. If you’ve ever listened to Warren Buffet, he’s talked about businesses that have succeeded. Those businesses exceeded customer expectations, establishing a relationship, providing a good product, and having good customer service. Why you would serve garbage food to a customer and expect them to come back is why you will fail. Not every KFC in the Quad Cities is like this. I’ve gone to Rock Island in the middle of the day and never recall having food that just sucked and you wouldn’t eat yourself being served to the customer. It’s time for this restaurant to go. It’s a bad site that is a poor representation of the KFC brand.
