KARIBU is a Swahili word that translates to mean "you are welcome". KARIBU by Wachira wine lounge is a home for understated wines. Showcasing the value of true diversity, KARIBU offers multiple wines from BIPOC, women, and local crafters. Set up in a cultural gallery, KARIBU by Wachira is a celebration of Dr. Chris Wachira's dual Kenyan-American heritage. KARIBU is the culmination of the extraordinary vision and effort of Dr. Chris Wachira, the first Kenyan-born, Californian winemaker. As a young immigrant, Chris fell in-love with the science of winemaking and developed a deep appreciation for the sense of community built from sharing a bottle of wine with complete strangers.
