Still the best subs in New Brunswick
I grew up on there hot pastrami subs and let me tell you they’re one of a kind. I wish the pastrami subs were as good here in Baltimore as they are in Jersey ,I can’t even lie. Check them out if you haven’t already it’s a great establishment with great tasting food!
Usually good. Terrible this time. Dropped food off, never rang bell. Just lost a regular.
Best subs in Jersey. The salami taste great and is not to salty. The bread is fresh and you can get a sand in about 10 minutes time.
Was excited to come in and try this New Brunswick stalwart sub shop. It’s often better to go local than chain. We arrived in time for peak lunch; there was a line of about 5 people ahead of us. They move the line very quickly (maybe too quickly - orders were misheard but quickly remedied). The woman at the fixings counter is extremely nice. There was plenty of meat on the sandwich, although my son notes Jersey Mikes uses 3 slices of provolone on a regular, here they do two. Choices for toppings were lettuce tomato onion oregano oil vinegar Mayo banana peppers and cherry peppers. I didn’t see any Cole slaw which was too bad; another reviewer suggested it on the Jersey Best. The biggest reason this gets a 4 is that the bread is not fresh. You want to amp up a pedestrian sandwich? Use great fresh bread. But to ruin an otherwise good sandwich - use day old bread. I’m not sure if earlier reviewers are correct that there was a recent ownership change and an attempt to save money, but this is the way to ruin your investment and go out of business. We didn’t try any breakfast, hot subs or soups so I cannot opine on those. But the lack of fresh baked bread at a sub shop is alarming.
I must say walking into the place smelled amazing for a sub place.. very clean store. And the service was extremely polite.. great experience, I challenge anyone to swing by and prove me wrong
Price is kinda high for a sub
