New owners, the food is not good anymore. HUGE drop in food quality, don't bother.
Food was very delicous and affordable. Cheesesteaks were loaded with lots of meat and cheese. One of the best I've ever tried. Burgers were also great, they say that its freshly made with their own blend and never frozen. Which I can taste the freshness. If you haven't tried them out yet. You are missing out! Vegetarian options: There is veggie cheesesteak option, fish and chips. Dietary restrictions: Lots of chicken options. Parking: Lots of parking spaces and free of charge. Kid-friendliness: Yes, high chair provided. Wheelchair accessibility: Yes, designated table reserved.
It has gone down the proverbial toilet. Gone is the crispy Italian roll. Instead there is an oval shaped mass produced mushy bun thing that is about two thirds the size of the old cheese steak sandwich. The meat tastes different too, not as flavorful. Blah....beef quality has diminished, this is NOT chopped sirloin like it used to be. Been going here for decades. Really crushed to lose one of my favorite spots. Bye Bye
I don't disagree that the food is really good, that's why the two stars. When you walk into a restaurant it should smell like FOOD, not like a teenage boys room! There are fingerprints EVERYWHERE, which means they don't clean regularly...makes me wonder what else don't clean. Won't be back, until I forget about the lack of cleanliness. PLEASE CLEAN YOUR RESTAURANT, it's gross. BTW there are leather patches to improve the look of your booths (Can't be more than $50.00) I have to change my review after a recent visit. THEY HAVE REMODELED AND CLEANED THE RESTAURANT!!! The food is still good and it's CLEAN!!! This is great because I really like their food but I just could not go back. It looks really nice and clean now. We will come back again. Thanks for the changes.
Jersey Joe's has the best Philly cheese steaks in the Bay Area - Bar none.
Spend more to get less. The remodel feels like a boring and dime-a-dozen chain restaurant now. The place was dead (literally 1 table drinking. No orders or anyone else while I waited) and it still took 20 minutes for a single small sandwich (didn’t realize they started differentiating) and fries. $20. To top it all off the fries were cool. I haven’t been back since the remodel and after this I don’t see myself coming back again. It’s a shame because it was one of the few local casual places in San Carlos. RIP.
I have been far from home (philly) for a long time I tried the cheesesteak & broke down in tears because of how good/accurate the food is thank you guys for helping me relive some beautiful memories.
