Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams

I love Jenni’s ice cream but idk if I came in on a day when the employee wasn’t really feeling her job or she just like making ppl feel stupid. I ask the employee how many scoops goes into a standard, instead of telling me how many time she scoops out ice cream from the freaking container; she goes in and start preaching jargon to me about the sizes of the scoops like I work there! She was also being very condescending with it and I really didn’t appreciate it because I don’t treat people that way and I for certain don’t deserve it I kept my cool and just let her rant I was trying to see if it made sense to get two standard ice creams but I ended up getting just one because I didn’t understand anything she was saying! which I regretted because I really needed two one for me and my dog I felt embarrassed and I really try to avoid any confrontation because I don’t want to be a jerk because when I read some one to hell it can be ugly and I’m a women of class and she was like a baby so I didn’t stoop to her level I might have been intimidating to her because I also just came from church and people normally try me when I don’t look like others or my presence is very light! she was judging me from my cover and I think she thought I was dingy idk but I just know I didn’t like it and I won’t be going on Sundays anymore.

From the sidewalk outside I could tell this was going to be an excellent experience. You could smell the delicious ice cream from that far away! Staff were super friendly and helpful, not to mention that the ice cream was to die for.

The texture of this ice cream is some of the best I’ve ever had. So smooth and melty but full of flavor. Big fan of the wildberry lavender flavor!

I heard Jeni being interviewed on a major foodie podcast a couple years ago and absolutely loved the way she articulated her desire for off-the-wall flavors. She wasn't afraid to try new things. Her creativity, profound scientific approach to flavor components, and endless obsession with creating better flavor combinations all come together in pure harmony when you try her ice creams. She is very meticulous about her ingredients which is why she uses grass fed cream, and doesn't saturate the ice cream with tons of sugar. I was ecstatic when I found out she had a shop here in STL! Jeni's is among the best grown up ice cream I've ever had (second best would be Ice Cream Factory *sold in ice cream parlors, not grocery stores.* ICF is what I call the "kid version" because every bite is studded with massive amounts of cookie pieces, candy bits, etc., while Jeni's is more for a refined foodie palette: like their Goat Cheese with Red Cherries, Brown Butter Almond Brittle, Brandied Banana Brûlée, Sweet Cream Biscuits and Peach Jam, etc., etc., etc.) The ambience is also super cute, but usually packed on the weekends with very limited parking, but it's worth it.
