Really great coffee and bagel was yum. The egg on the bagel and chive cream cheese were also delicious. I’m a little confused about the shopping sections in the corner of the restaurant but I guess that’s cool that they’re supporting local business. It just threw me off and it would’ve been nice if there were more tables… I had to sit outside. Luckily it was a nice enough day.
"James Oliver is simply amazing! His food not only tastes incredible but also feels like a warm hug from a dear friend. With each dish, he infuses creativity and love, making every bite a delightful journey. Whether you're a foodie or just love good eats, dining at one of James Oliver's restaurants is a must-do experience. Trust me, you won't be disappointed!"
Great vibe, super friendly staff, but no public wifi is you’re trying to work while you eat so we weren’t able to stay.
This is a go-to coffee shop. When I get a taste for a bagel and lox, JO is my choice when in Corktown. I'm a fan of their soups, and it's one of the few places in Detroit where you can get a good Bagel and Lox. The staff and owners are super friendly. There is a wide range of coffee selections and food choices. The seating area is great if you want to work by yourself, meet friends, or hold a quick meeting. There are several baked goods that are great to take to the office, but if you have a few minutes, grab a salad or their soup of the day. It's perfect on a cool day. Parking: There is usually parking in front on Michigan Ave, but there is plenty of paying in the back which is very easy.
This is our first time in Detroit and I LOVED this place! It’s a very small walk from our hotel and it was perfect very lovey staff great atmosphere! And fire bagels
Service and Atmosphere is great but I ordered the hot chocolate and it was not hot. It didn't taste right as well...tasted like melted dark chocolate. Maybe I'll try something else.
There is always a long wait in here. I like their outdoor seated area. The sesame garlic bagel with dill cream cheese is actually pretty good but that's about it. I've tried the quiche (dry) and their $6 cinnamon rolls looked good but weren't (they were stale). I was asking why I was overcharged 2$ for my drink. Apparently they charge for ice. That's absolutely ridiculous. Never heard of a restaurant charging for ice. Not even extra ice- just how it comes normally. So a total of $7.75 for my small coffee. I like the bagel but won't be returning. Overpriced in general. $25 for 2 medium sized cinnamon rolls and a coffee.
Cute spot to go to for coffee and a quick bite! Definitely busy so make sure you are comfortable with a busy atmosphere and open to any seating!
Nice place and atmosphere, okay coffee but just a little overpriced.
