AWESOME PLACE!! FIRST TIME THERE! WISH I NEW ABOUT IT SOONER! WILL RETURN!!
This is literally the first time I've ever left a review on the internet and I feel it's worthy of knowing what happened. I chipped my tooth eating a hamburger at Irv's Deli. I could not find the object that I chipped my tooth on but I did find the piece of my tooth. After letting the chef know he was understanding and directed me to speak with the owner. The owner's wife came to me yelling and saying there was no bones in the hamburger! it's not her fault! . When I said this is not about a bone it's about whatever foreign object that somehow got in here and cracked my tooth look here's my tooth... she continued to say it was not their fault and that I have weak teeth. I asked the woman with a thick for an accent to please stop yelling at me and she continued. Irv started to call the police which I thought was kind of hilarious because not once did i even raise my voice . . I didn't even ask them to comp the disastrous lunch. I paid the bill and calmly left and called my insurance company. I've been in the restaurant industry for over 40 years, if somebody injured themselves in my restaurant or on my property I certainly would have never acted this way . Completely unprofessional. Apparently these folks don't understand how their insurance policies work and would rather scream at and lose a customer and risk a bad review. Not good business Irv and your aggressive wife..
The location and atmosphere were nice, but the food and service were absolutely horrendous. I ordered a few items just to experience the menu. First item: The Grits and Scrambled eggs with cheddar cheese was the worst I ever had. The grits were watery and tasteless. The eggs were liquud eggs, poured from a container. The cheese had to be fake. Did not melt at all over the eggs, and when I tried to mix them together, the eggs still separated easily with no egg or grits sticking to it. Second item: Steak and fried eggs. Though the eggs appeared to be real from a shell, they were flavorless and not cooked to my specification. The cook decided to send me what he thought would be best for me because that's how other customers prefer it. (Wow) The steak looked delicious, but it was hard to chew and again.... Flavorless. After the nice waitress took my order, she promptly sat down 5 feet from me to have a meal and conversation with who appeared to be her paramour. After serving me, she went back to entertain her consort, and that was the last of her service with me. Another waitress, seeing I needed service, came to attend. This is a place I would highly recommend to avoid. You would only waste your money, your time, and your desire to eat.
Old school Classic diner feel inside. I got breakfast. Ham n Cheese omelet with english muffin, grits, and side of bacon. The food was great. The only thing is I would have liked my muffin toasted more. I would go back again in a heartbeat.
It is not much to look at. I stopped in for a quick "to go" order. I was pleasantly surprised with an old-fashioned, Deli sandwich. The turkey was sliced thin and piled high. The turkey was delicious and their homemade coleslaw was AMAZING! I went there out of convenience, I go back for the taste.
Best place to go the food is excellent and the service was great . Tito G, JJ and I loved it. Kid-friendliness: We have a disabled son and they accommodated us really well.
