So good! Definitely recommend!!
India Gate offers a weekday lunch buffet option. It’s a solid option for a quick lunch for a filler up. $19.99. The lunch buffet vegetarian options are plentiful. The vegetable samosa has a thick doughy crust. The meat option is limited to chicken… tandoori chicken, chicken curry, and butter chicken. The temperature of the food is warm, but I would prefer the hot trays temp turned up a notch for the hot food. The dessert options are gulab jamun and rice pudding. Both are served cold. Complimentary naan is brought to the table. The options are garlic and regular. It’s fresh baked and served piping got. Luv that. It has crisp edges and airy pillowy interior. Yum. Overall all the buffet items tasted ok. The interior is simple. No particular ambiance. The waiter was attentive. He made sure to refill drinks and engage with the customers.
4 of us went for lunch buffet at this place. And I should say it was one of the worst buffets I have had. They are charging $20 per person but just have few little options. They had 4 non-veg options in buffet(appetizer + entree), tandoori chicken, chicken vindaalo, butter chicken and fish pakora. We went around 2 pm and all these trays were empty or left with residuals. We waited for some time, didn’t saw anyone refilling the trays and went to the guy in the counter asking what we are supposed to eat. Then he said it’s being worked on and went back to the kitchen and started making the refills. He refilled 3 of them and still didn’t refill the Tandoori chicken tray. I lost appetite while waiting and got tired the treatment, I gave up going back asking again for refills. I am not mentioning anything about other food options as there is nothing to say about them. They had gulab jamun as dessert which was ice cold. I think they just poured it from fridge or something. I would never recommend this place for buffet. It’s nowhere worth what you’re paying for. @management - anyways you’re charging a premium price on the buffet for such few options, at least serve the food. I am not even commenting about taste, at least serve food so that people can eat something. Otherwise stop your buffet at 2 pm if you don’t want to refill the trays, rather than asking people to take whatever is left on them paying such prices. So disappointing.
The food is delicious, the place is nice, the location convenient to walk around downtown and the prices are reasonable
Worst indian food ever Service was very poor Expensive food but no taste
Service was too bad Don’t want to talk about the food at all Had the worst ever
Disastrous Indian food ever had Service was too bad
I enjoy the chicken saag.
Food was delicious, portions were a little on the small side. Real issue came to when myself and co dinner were splitting the bill, cash and card. The server said this was fine and took both forms of payment back. At home I realized I had been charged for the full meal, and the $20 cash portion was kept as a tip despite the conversation of splitting we had with our server. Very disappointing that the less than $40 meal cost more than $60 (cash tip was left before leaving the restaurant, as we didn’t realize the $20 bill was taken as tip).
