Update: I've been back a couple of times. Second chance at the shrimp was much better. Not sure why corn/potatoes/sausage didn't come with it this time? Maybe I didn't order the same as previous? Also had a poboy, not bad, but bread heavy. Almost couldn't taste the shrimp even though there was a good amount. Plus no pickles unless you ask? I've been here sporadically in the past and honestly this has not been my 1st option for seafood. Since my favorite steamed seafood place in the area closed, I'm trying to find a new place. Went later in the day, about 45min before they closed. Once a gas station it's now just a restaurant and convenience store. There is some seating but most people get togo. I've had their crawfish in the past and would've liked to have bought some this time, but it was too early in the season and they're expensive at the moment. I was here with a purpose, 1lb steamed shrimp, potatoes, corn, sausage and all the butter. Also got the mama's burger. Booth were disappointing. I like that the shrimp were head on, and they were fresh and well cooked. But they needed more seasoning, like a lot more IMO. The burger was ok, just a frozen burger patty. The bacon was thick and crisp like I like it, but again nothing to write home about. At the price I'm not super upset either. I'd come back to try the crawfish again, people I know rave about this place. Maybe it's local tastes, or it was late or just me. Both of my favorite two local seafood joints closed within the past year, so take what you will with that. I'll come back before the season ends and compare crawfish with my regular places.
