The original New York J&P Pizza started in 1979 and the J&P were the initials of the original owners. New York J&P in Hampstead opened its doors in December 1983. Back then, the store was only 1,200 square feet in a small shopping center next to a video store and High’s. Eventually, the store expanded into the video store. A few years later High’s left and New York J&P took over the building and grew again. In 2004, a new shopping center was built around the restaurant in the Illiano Plaza.
