Chef Mike Buckley & his culinary team always knock it outta the ballpark, food is always top notch. Patrick, the director of Trop restaurants, goes out of his way to accommodate any special requests. I literally can not recommend IL Verdi highly enough... you won't be disappointed.

Shrimp picatta was not prepared correctly. Received grilled tough shrimp placed on top of pasta. It had no lemon taste at all. Pasta was cooked to much and was stuck together. It had no lemon taste. Rather it tasted of oil and butter. Had better shrimp scampi at red lobster. Very disappointed. One and done. Server was excellent. We felt sorry for her.

It was our first visit for dinner and the four of us were very happy with all of our choices. The crostini primavera was amazing and a definite to order, crab cake appetizer was great, Caesar salad, meatballs were wonderful, veal Parmesan great.. We have also tried the Happy hour and it was very good.. Calamari is done to perfection and William the bartender is a real good guy who gave us great suggestions for our trip there for dinner. It is definitely top notch Italian food, a bit pricey for food and drinks but a wonderful venue to spoil yourself.

We had dinner here the other night. Place was nice service was good. They did not have the bottle of wine I ordered so they gave us a different one for the same price and it was more money nice. We had the fried Calamari large portion and very good. My wife had the Gnocchi Conricotta she said was over cooked and mushy and not very tasty. I was looking forward to the Frutti Di Mare ( Cioppino ) which I love. It was Lobster, Shrimp, Mussels, Littleneck Clams and Calamari pasta. The dish was the worst I ever had, first the half Lobster tail was a joke the size of a shrimp and over cooked and tuff did not eat. I did not know you could catch a Lobster less than a pound. There was no Calamari at all 3 Mussels 3 clams and 3 shrimps for $49.99. I did say something to the waitress about the no Calamari and the joke of a Lobster tail. The bill came and nothing taken off or even a free desert was offered. Will never go back.

We sat in a little booth with curtains. It was nice and overlooked the water. Our waiter forgot to check in on us, but was otherwise fine. Octopus was good. Everything else was average; however, I ordered "The Special" which was a 16 oz. (!?) veal chop covered in melted cheese and peppers served medium. It was brought to me medium-well. That is not a good combination. Furthermore, I must need to eat more veal because that veal chop... was very, very pork choppy to me. I know my way around a pork chop.

We went to Atlantic City with my parents for a quick weekend trip. We stayed at The Tropicana & had dinner at Il Verdi. Man o' man, it did NOT dissappoint!! Their new location is perfect & so well done. It's very inviting, it has beach views, the ambience is very comfortable. There was nothing wrong with their old location, but the new one is definitely elevated. The food was 100% on point. Between the 4 of us we had... Shrimp Cocktail, which was well prepared and the shrimp were a generous size. Caprese, which was also beautifully presented, super fresh, and delicious! Ceasar Salad which, again, was very fresh, well done, and delicious. 3 orders of the Filet Mignon, which were perfectly cooked to order and tasted absolutely fantastic. Bone-in Ribeye, which was HUGE and packed a punch of flavor that was just as big. Definitely a winner! Creamed spinach, which was also delicious. Fingerling Potatoes were dry and possibly overdone but that wasn't going to ruin our meal. They had several tasty looking dessert options on the menu. Unfortunately, we were too stuffed to try any of them. Next time, and there most definitely will be a next time, I will same some room to try one. The only negative is our waiter took the "wait" part of their title to heart. He was great when he was at the table. Very knowledgable about the menu and super pleasant. We liked him, but there were long stretches where we didn't see him at all. Getting the check, then waiting for him to come back for it, then, again to bring us the receipt to sign, took longer than it took us to eat our food. Bottom line, Tropicana has more food choices than enough, Il Verdi should not be overlooked. It is a top of the list restaurant for sure.
