The staff here are friendly and thorough when asking if any allergies or dietary requirements. Service was great, and did not have to wait for long for food after ordering. Got to sit outside. The server made sure the outdoor heater was on and that we were comfortable. The food was amazing and reasonably priced. Highly recommend. Dietary restrictions: Have a range of dietary restricted food su h as gluten-free and Dairy free.
The house of the rising sun is a smart, stylish bar. There is a nice outside seating area at the front. It's mainly a place to come and eat. We didn't try the food. We only called in for a drink. There's a fair choice of beers and wine. Unfortunately, they don't have any cask conditioned real ales. The staff are friendly and the food menu did look good. Vegetarian options: There are vegetarian options on the menu Parking: Not easy to park in this part of Shrewsbury Wheelchair accessibility: Flat entrance the bar is all on one level easy access for wheelchairs
Great service and staff but very poor food, it's fine downhill since we last went, cold food is unacceptable, poor quality of produce and not value for money
Absolutely brilliant. Can't fault anything or suggest any improvements. So sad we don't live closer . I'd advise anybody to go . Great variety of food. Good value . Nice service from pleasant staff who seemed to be knowledgeable about the food .
30th Birthday Celebration! I've never had a bad experience whilst at House of the Rising Sun but wanted to leave this review from my most recent visit. We booked a large group for evening meal to celebrate my sisters birthday and from booking to when we left everything was brilliant. The staff there are so accommodating and communicate well about dietary restrictions and dealing with a large group. We took a birthday cake to them earlier in the day and asked that it be brought out for desert later. When I asked if they had any candles there the staff member said if they didn't that a member of staff could pop out and get us some if need be. Our waiting staff were very attentive, always filling up our water and keeping an eye on when our drinks were running low. They explained that because of the large group that food might not all come out at the same time, which was fine, however, there were no big delays and was actually preferable. The food is amazing there, and I would highly recommend the mezze board and noodles. The cocktails are also very tasty and not just full of sugar. If you don't manage to finish your food then they are happy to box it up for you to take. When it came time for the cake to come out they turned the main lights down and staff were even singing happy birthday, which was appreciated. Service charge is optional but I dont see how you could not include this as I've never been able to fault the place or the service we get there. As we left we were told it was a pleasure to have us there which was nice given it was a very busy Saturday for them. All in all would highly recommend whether it's for lunch or evening meal, a quiet one or a celebration.
Great night out with friends
Had a fabulous meal in this super restaurant. Very attentive, friendly, informative and professional staff.
Just had a beltingly good dinner here. Service excellent. Vibe nice and chilled.
Local looks lovely. People who sarve you are really nice and polite. But quality of the food is rubbish. Ordered mazz board, chicken katsu and beef teryiaki. To be honest when saw dishes was happy that I didn't order dessert. Mazz board was ok. Just ok. No taste explosion. You can probably get the same experience by buying hummus, olives, falafel at any shop as a ready meal. Seriously. I was really dissapointed. Chicken katsu and beef teryiaki was just tasteless. Katsu dish looks like a mess on a plate and sauce was just watery. Teryiaki was micro portion. Size of the portion isn't an issue as long as you can feel that you pay for quality. But leaving there 60 pounds for tasteless meal? Seriously if you like rich flavour kitchen help yourself and skip that place.
