Hook & Reel Cajun Seafood & Bar

We usually go to juicy crab but tonight we decided to try this place. We got seated and our server wasn’t friendly at all. She was super friendly to everyone else. Only difference, I guess we were white. I ordered the reel catch and my son had the lobster and my husband ordered crawfish, sausage, and shrimp. Mine and my son’s lobster was so tough and stuck to the shell. My crab legs kept getting stuck as well. No proper utensils were given to help crack the crab legs. The flavor of the special sauce was very thick and overpowering. It wasn’t good at all. The shrimp was so tough like it was over cooked. We sat towards the back but we had the view of the bar. Employees were so loud at the bar and even one was shouting let’s get this party started. Even at times while we needed drinks, our server was sitting at the bar. And despite how we were treated and the lack of service, we still tipped well and was nice. Learned our lesson and will never be back. Definitely wasn’t worth the $176 we spent.

03/02/24 Another great meal but service was not good. Once seated we waited 20 minutes for server. Ordered appitizer and drinks. 4 waters and 1 beer. Then ordered food. Food came out very quickly but the beer did not arrive until almost finished. I realize they were a little busy but the service was very poor. Not what is expected at H&R. Well be back but if service must improve. The other times we were there our server Alamide set the high standard expected at H&R. Hope she stills works there. 12/7/23 Another great meal shrimp & flounder. Same great server Olamide. She is the most professional server!!!!! 9/21 Same great & professional sevice. Food was great. Took my son, flounder, catfish & shrimp baskets. Same professional server Olamide. She remembered us. Great job Olamide. 9/4 Lunch, flounder & catfish basket with sweet potato & Cajun fries. 3rd time and each time the same excellent/professional service.This time our server was Olamide and she was also very professional. This is our favorite place for seafood.

Good seafood for the price

I ordered an mini boil online and it was just so dry I had 1/2 lb shrimp head off with noodles 2 egg 2 potatoes I think 4 corn but it all just tasted like boiled water and the shrimp were so crumbly? I hope they had an option on Uber eats for extra sauce because this was not worth the $34

Came for my birthday night. Ayana was my waitress, She was amazing and never stopped moving. it was like she was waiting on every table in this restaurant! she's the best waitress I've ever had.
