Great food, Delicious drinks. Ordered pulled pork nachos - the combo of salty pork, sweet BBQ sauce and spicy jalapenos was fantastic - and Mac and cheese bites - so gooey and cheesy. Had the Pigs Tail (loved the bacon) and bourbon mash cocktails - both were really good.
We came in tonight(Friday) with some friends who have never been in. The Hours are not listed on the door. We sat down at 7:20pm. First thing that was said to us by our server before even “how are you doing tonight” was we close at 8pm so we will get some menus and get you in and outta here.” Okay…That was very rude. He proceeded to take our order. Everyone orders sandwiches. I order nachos. Everyone’s food comes out. Mine comes out last and is cold. Easiest thing on the menu and it’s ice cold and queso is barely melted. It is now 7:40 and I let them know that I hate being this person but my food is ice cold and queso is not even melted. They take it back and remake it. The one gal stands in the doorway of the kitchen the whole time complaining about how stupid it is to remake this. We are sitting at the table closest to the kitchen so we can hear everything. Very poor service from the beginning and they have now lost long time customers. We will not be back.
We visited this bbq joint after my parents found it and fell in love with the atmosphere & food. The gentleman that waited on us was friendly and never seemed rush. We all had their nachos and it was plenty for 2 people to share. They had 3 different sauces to pick from and the meat was tender as well as juicy. I ordered onion rings with our nachos and they came out with the perfect crunch. Also, I loved that you can bite into the onion ring and not have to worry about the entire ring coming out in the first bite. The atmosphere was laid back and calm when we went on 12-28. We will definitely be coming back to try some of their other entrees as well.
We went pretty close to when they opened for the day. I got a brisket sandwich, Mac and cheese and beans. The brisket was very fatty. There were a few bites of the sandwich that were absolutely delicious, the bark on the brisket was really good but overall it was nota great sandwich. The Mac and cheese could've been much better. It was very dry and tasted like it had been sitting out for a while over a warmer. The flavor was good but it wasn't cheesy at all. The beans were decent, pretty tasty and a nice subtle kick to them. My wife's pulled pork sandwich was also very dry. I figured since we were there close to opening for the day that it'd be nice and fresh but that didn't seem to be the case. We were also the only people eating there the entire time we were there, I guess that's fairly telling. Overall it looks like a nice place, the people were nice but the food just came up short in my eyes.
Pork Steak and Mac-n- Cheese both obviously not cooked the same day and just warmed up for the order. Both very dry. Pork Steak served with a rub on it and unsauced. Mac was clumpy - dry, not very cheesy and basically not good. The brisket and pulled pork both received average ratings from our table. The smothered baked potato received an above average rating. Food used to be way better.
Ordered before many times and service is always great even if somewhat close to closing time. Love the loaded fries
This place is a "must go" of local BBQ places! Carrie and her husband mastered not only the art of BBQ, but their custom bourbon drinks and BBQ sauce are delightful adds. Not to mention they are super amazing people! Last night they housed our 50th birthday celebration and were super accommodating to our guests. We absolutely enjoy giving them business and we hope you will too.
