Great place to stop and spend some time enjoying the atmosphere
What a lovely old pub. Big place over more than one floor. Great service.
Best pub in Shrewsbury. A piece of history with stunning decor and great service
Great Sunday lunch! Top Yorkshire pudding and veg.
Nice but not £17 nice. Had the braised chicken leg. Just a tiny leg with some rice and peas, cabbage and kale. Could have knocked it up myself for £2 a portion I reckon. They've got a cool seating area called the hold which is in the style of a medieval prison. Honestly think they should lock whoever's in charge of pricing in there. £17 was a rip off. Same for the burger.
We discovered this pub on our last day on our visit to Shrewsbury and what a find. One of the best pubs we have ever been in. We had an afternoon snack of pork wrap and chips between us, which we shared. It was so good we decided to book an evening meal. The meal of venison cereliac and broccoli was fantastic the gravy to die for. If the chef is reading this could you please send the recipe for the gravy
