PANTS REQUIRED. Got turned away as we were walking in due to wearing shorts. My money would have been spent the same as the person walking in next with pants, but I guess that’s not their priority. I can’t argue with a restaurant dress code except that it’s not published anywhere by the restaurant site that I browsed in advance. Later on I can Google it and see from third party websites that it’s strict, but you’d think after so many occurrences the restaurant would be thoughtful enough to publish it on their website or displayed somewhere outside the restaurant to save the awkward conversation of getting turned away at the door. I’m not against dress codes, but based on other reviews it’s not even worth the food and cost to have walked back to the hotel and put pants on.
ZERO STARS! My gf and I walked in and were promptly asked to leave, while holding hands, because they didn’t allow shorts despite two individuals wearing shorts in the establishment?? One gentleman tried to seat us but the tall white guy, wearing a suit with white hair asked us to leave. Take your business elsewhere.
We have often visited this place when in Venice over the years and always had a good experience. Unfortunately something has changed and now the place has become a tourist trap with horrible service. Portions have become half the size of what they used to be, our waiter rushed us through dinner by taking away unfinished plates (that we would have liked to finish) and the bread while I was literally eating it. Last year we came and ordered prawn curry and the waiter at the time offered us to switch the side from rice to artichokes at no extra cost. We asked to do the same this year. The waiter suggested to also keep a bit of rice, but then charged us €45 extra for 6 microscopic artichokes served on a tiny plate the size of a coffee cup, without no warning whatsoever.
When we confronted them with this, they did not do anything and we had to pay for this rip off. We also spoke to the manager about the overall service and he also did not do anything about it.
We will never come back
Unprofessional attitude. I reserved a table at night and they did not notify me that short wear is not allowed at night. Professional restaurant should notify their customers if they have special dress codes at specific time of the day. No wonder this restaurant rating is under 4, but after their attitude with my reservation, I understood why.
We stopped here during our last trip to Venice, and the mains were delicious - but the desserts were absolutely incredible! My husband couldn’t choose between the three desserts and so they surprised him with all three! Honestly, the best service and the most delicious desserts we’ve ever had.
Great service, great vibe, didn't eat there but drinks were OK (negroni and a peach belini). Food did look tasty, we sat at the bar. As expensive as san marco square for drinks but a good experience.
Drinks at the Bar- cramped space and so overpriced and it’s not worth the hype… even to be able to say “I had a Bellini at Harry’s”….
Waited inside for one hour to have dinner and we the time arrived I asked if we were going to seat on the upper level and they told me we weren’t able to have dinner as we were not dressed according to the dress code which was never mentioned nor printed anywhere.
