A dessert beer to the core, our Raspberry Stout is truly a feat in decadence. Loads of chocolate malt, cacao nibs, and local, late season red raspberries from Agriberry Farm all contribute to what would best be described as a raspberry truffle in liquid form. After months of patient maturation in freshly emptied bourbon barrels, our Raspberry Stout is finished on Madagascar vanilla beans revealing a confluence of smooth, rich dark chocolate, ripe red raspberries, and real vanilla.

Hardywood Bourbon Barrel Cru is brewed in the fashion of Belgium’s revered monastic breweries. Bourbon Barrel Cru displays a rich mahogany hue with a medium body and brilliant clarity after months of barrel aging. The maturity and melding of flavors brought on by the freshly drained bourbon whiskey barrels lends an extraordinary sense of harmony to Bourbon Barrel Cru. Almond, toffee and oaky vanilla give way to notes of dark cherries and raisins. Subtle hints of plum are greeted by caramel overtones for a smooth, robust and warming finish.

Cancer Sucks Cold IPA 7.0% ABV Cancer Sucks is a benefit beer to support Cold Cap Therapy. Cold Cap Therapy is a scull-cooling treatment for chemotherapy patients. Hair loss during cancer treatment can be traumatizing for patients. The revolutionary Paxman Cold Caps help to significantly reduce the hair loss that is caused by chemotherapy treatment. Some patients are unable to afford Cold Cap Tharapy because due to insurance complications. We are trying to bridge that gap by brewing Cancer Sucks, a Cold IPA, and donating 10% of the sales of this beer in cans to organizations that support and fund the use of Cold Cap therapy. Cancer Sucks is a Cold IPA like no other. It is brewed with lager yeast and combines Idaho 7 and Simcoe hops to create a moderate bitterness with pine, grapefruit, and orange zest aromatics. Clean and crisp as a lager should be, this beer is bold yet refreshing.

Made with baby ginger from Casselmonte Farm, wildflower honey from Bearer Farms, and local maple syrup, Hardywood Christmas Pancakes captures the delight of Christmas morning and a stack of hot flapjacks with a fresh snap of ginger in the finish. Fightin' Hokies Hefeweizen is a recipe based on traditional German Style Weisse beers. This beer is brewed in collaboration with the Virginia Tech Food Science and Technology Department and is a result of a research and development trip conducted in Bavaria by Virginia Tech's faculty and Hardywood's Master Brewer Brian Nelson.

Clean and crisp, with pleasant aromatics of fresh bread, a subtle underlying floral note from noble hops, and a touch of malt sweetness in the finish, this golden Munich-style helles lager is cold-conditioned for weeks, resulting in an exceptionally refreshing beer.

Hardywood Hopkeeper is brewed with Virginia grown malt from Murphy and Rude Malting Co. in Charlottesville, VA and a touch of VIrginia Honey. Our Double IPA is hop-forward and approachable with a proprietary blend of hops lending lush notes of juicy pineapple, fresh orange zest and citrus fruit.

Hardywood Kentucky Christmas Morning is liquid proof that good things come to those who wait. Our original Gingerbread Stout takes an initial transformation through months of aging in Kentucky bourbon barrels, reaching new levels of maturity with layers of vanilla, coconut, and toasted oak. Before bottling, the barrel aged stout is cold filtered through heaps of freshly cracked locally roasted coffee beans from Blanchard’s Coffee Co, showcasing the nostalgic joys of Christmas Morning. Richmond Dark Lager is an extension of our classic American Craft Lager you know as Richmond Lager. Using a touch of highly kilned drum roasted, dehusked malt in the recipe, we transform our pale yellow Richmond Laget to a translucent mahogony color with notes of delicate roast, chocolate, and caramel flavors and aromas. Fuller in body than our classic Richmond Lager, Richmond Dark Lager retains the clean and crisp finsh you look for in a well crafted lager.

Real unfiltered lager crafted from the finest hops and barley malt. We are proud to continue supporting Virginia agriculture. A portion of the grain bill incorporates Virginia-grown and malted 2-row barley buy Murphy and Rude Malting Company. The use of Cascade hops lends a subtle citrus note in the finish.

Hardywood Rum Barrel Pumpkin combines the nostalgic flavors and aromas of autumn with a soul warming, blackstrap molasses laced finish that can only be achieved through months of maturation in dark rum barrels.
