Habana Outpost

a security guard in the French quarter recommended this place to us when we asked about a healthier fare, especially after eating all this rich and yummy local cuisine. We walked a bit from French quarter to get to the restaurant, which is a beautiful white building with a gorgeous 1950s antique car out front. The decor is vintage Havana Cuba, very clean and plenty of seating inside and outside. It's also kid-friendly with a big Connect Four, toy cars and other interesting features. The food was quite frankly outstanding. The corn on the cob with elote seasoning was devouree in a few minutes. We each had bowls, and mine had the eggplant al pastor which was very generous with guacamole, black beans, rice, some lettuce and grilled eggplant. I had to give half my rice to my husband because I just couldn't finish it. If you want something feeling hearty healthy and tasty this is the place to go! And the staff was very nice and brought our food to us.

Wish I could live here! …Or at least have it in my neighborhood. The vibe and food are awesome and the price is of value.

I finally came by here earlier this week… And I really dig this place ! Great food, great atmosphere, kind servers, REALLY GOOD MARGS! I am literally going back tonight!!

VERY GOOD food. Tacos the best, corn great, Chips and salsa great. I did order too much food,but I one of my tacos was delish the next day.

They have great Cuban beats playing so you don't mind the traffic too much. Their cheese quesadilla and Cuban sandwich are so tasty! A Sangria pitcher was a perfect way to celebrate our stay in NO. Shout out to our server Melani and all the bartenders for creating such a welcoming and laid back atmosphere! Vegetarian options: The cheese quesadilla combo is the best!

Four stars simply bc the theme of the restaurant does not match the food. Only two Cuban items on the whole menu. I was hoping to get some ropa vieja or lechon asado. However, the Cuban sandwich was really tasty and the service was excellent. The bartender even stopped by to see how our drinks were, which is pretty much unheard of. Very friendly staff
