Best chicken in lex, it’s not even close
Parking: Off a one way street that leads into a gravel paid parking lot with lots of potholes. Also was excessively full and hard to turn a full size truck around in.
No disrespect to Colonel Sanders, but this is by far the best fried chicken in Kentucky. This was my first time trying it. Fair priced and a super friendly staff. Even met the owner, great guy. Give it a try
Lighting isn’t very comfortable. Much it’s my understanding they’re moving to a new location near Rupp arena.
The chicken is so juicy & flavorful. The greens & potato salad were great too. Brooklyn R and the kitchen staff was hard at work today. They all gave EXCELLENT customer service. Thank y'all. ( :
The “World Famous Fried Chicken” fell short of expectations. The chicken lacked flavor and the bread/buns were dry and stale. The only standout was excellent customer service. Barely deserves a three-star rating.
Food was absolutely excellent. We got two piece dark meat fried chicken, greens, and fries. All 10/10. Fried chicken was juicy and skin was golden and perfect- couldn't be better. We got the chocolate chess pie and it was excellent too. It took a little bit longer than we expected, maybe 20-25 mins for takeout, but worth it. Would recommend it and come again!
Gritty OG fried chicken. The interior is bare bones and simple with some UK banners. You're here for the chicken. It took about 35 minutes to get food after ordering, server quoted 15-20 minutes, so they must have been behind. The chicken is very good and perfectly cooked. It's moist and not dried out. A little heat to add flavor. Classic side options. Would guess the place has been around for 50 years and still probably still be for at least another 50. It's simple and does chicken well. Great lunch at a fair price. Vegetarian options: No vegetarian options other than sides Parking: Large surface lot shared with other businesses. May have to park away from the building, but there is enough parking on-site.
