The minute you crack your can, aroma of grapefruit, mango and pine hit you in the face; like a beaver slapping his tail on a pristine small body of water in Ontario. Canuck pours a deep gold, bordering on burnt orange that produces a tight snowy white toque. Take one last nose before getting into the liquid, which you’ll soon find will be hard to put down.

“Our pet octopus is a bit of a jerk. He’s that guy who has a couple then either tells you how much he loves you or threatens to fight you. So we brewed this IPA, with 8 varieties of hops and 8 types of malt. We targeted 88 IBU and 8.8% to appease him. Sadly, when he found out that we’d fabricated all of the above info, it only made him more volatile.

Aromas of dried leaf, hints of tea (green/black), with an earthy touch that leads into info soft citrus notes. Malt sweetness up front of raisin, tea, and subtle caramel, give way to a very pleasant earthy and tea-like hop flavour. Touch of citrus fruits follow. Soft carbonation, light to medium body, and very sessionable.

In your journey to access levels of perception, you pour this hazy bronze coloured New England style IPA into your glass and the clouds part, fusing light with darkness. HazeMama offers aromas of ripe pineapple, kiwi, tangerine and sweet cotton candy that join soft, yet warming alcohol notes. A divine state of consciousness starts to emerge, showcasing the elegance of this 7% creation.

The hazy light golden liquid produces a tight white crown. Notes of peach and mango are predominant, joined by flavours of strawberry, and a touch of lemon. The soft mouthfeel provides a creamy texture followed by a finish of honeydew melon and a crisp hop bitterness.

Aroma is like a bowl of fresh citrus. Taste is like fresh squeezed lemonade without the sugar.
