Entirely overpriced.. $3 for one egg roll? And $19 for a plate of lo mein? No thank you. We didn’t buy anything because we saw people eating and what they had didn’t look anything different than the place down the road where I can get a plate of lo Mein for $8, large $11. The place is extremely cramped and not worth the $20/plate experience. Perhaps the buffet is different but if you’re just wanting some take out for a reasonable price, this isn’t the place to go.

Very friendly! A bit pricey but the portions are huge! No complaints about flavor, especially the spring rolls and egg drop soup. The soup had chicken in it, which was a nice surprise! Compliments to the chef…5 stars all around!

Went here for a quick dinner last night. It was not quick. Waited about 30 minutes for the main dish. Seems like the kitchen was more focused on to go orders than customers dining in. Brandon was great but the other server that was helping was very confused. Food was pretty good. Loved the egg rolls and the Peking beef but the sweet and sour pork that was part of the combo was 90% breading and very little pork. I know this is not the restaurant’s fault but there was a super loud table that sat and talked loudly and laughed even louder for 20 minutes after they paid their check. Made for a very unpleasant atmosphere while I was patiently waiting on my food. I’d go back and try again just for the egg rolls. I know the days of $10 Chinese food is gone but I did think $30 was a bit steep for an appetizer and meal. I got water to drink. That was not counting the 20% cash tip I left.

I finally had the opportunity to try Golden Gate. I chose to eat there, as I live a good 30-35 minutes away. I really enjoyed my meal: sweet and sour pork with garlic shrimp dinner combo. The egg roll was huge compared to what I'm used to getting elsewhere, the vegetables in the garlic shrimp were fresh, and - no joke - there had to have been 40 decent-sized shrimp! The breading on the pork was "just right" - not too thick, not too greasy. The rice was pretty basic, but that's how I like it if it's a side - I can add some rice in the saucy bites of shrimp or pork, and for me, it hits the spot! Needless to say, I brought home leftovers, which I enjoyed the next day! Brandon and I chatted a bit - such a nice man! I mentioned how I missed my little local Chinese restaurant back in California, and Brandon piped up with, "Oh, I used to live in California, too - West Covina!" I told him how much I enjoyed the meal, and tucked back in as he returned to the counter, taking numerous orders over the phone. I watched the amiable exchanges between several "regulars" who stopped by to order and pick up "to-go." I love that "Cheers" feeling at a little restaurant (where everybody knows your name....!). It's not a fancy place, but the food was really good and the atmosphere of people happy to be there, the warm reception from Brandon...well, they've got a new "regular" customer - me!

The prices of this place is insane for the below average food they serve. The only reason this place is still alive is due to nostalgia from a day where it once was affordable, if you want to get quality food and not overpay, go anywhere else. The menu has hardly any options for one person to eat here. It’s as if they go out of their way to make sure of it, not having any portion of noodles less than 17 dollars. Total rip off.
