Great dive bar! Lots of taps! Brock was very helpful in picking 2 out for us Parking: In back.
Growing up in Orange County, goat hill tavern can be recognized as the reunion spot for high school (about 3 miles away). my brother just had his 20 year reunion and my theory was right. As it is a nostalgic and central dive bar in Costa Mesa, I do enjoy coming here for a beer with friends. I came just recently and they had great service while their was a Ufc fight
The bartender were extremely efficient and friendly. Great widely of selection of beers and alcohol drinks. With games available to enjoy.
NO FOREIGNERS ALLOWED. I am 31 years old, grew up my whole life in right here in Orange County. I’ve spent the last 9 years living and working outside the USA, and after 7 years of not being home, I finally flew to California for a visit. My California IDs are expired since I do not reside in the USA anymore. (I do security work in the Middle East and reside in one of the countries in that region) They refused to accept my drivers license from the country I reside in, along with my government ID Card from the country I live and work in. I explained to the security guard at the door along with his supervisor, that I am no longer a CA resident and am just here visiting. They refused to accept me, telling me they have a policy where they only accept U.S. ID. They told me to “go get my passport and bring it to the bar”. Every other bar in the area let me in that weekend with those IDs. Since then I’ve noticed that there are several other bad reviews about similar incidents where people with IDs from foreign countries are not accepted at Goathill Tavern. Like I wrote before I do security work in the most dangerous part of the world and I more than anyone else understand the life and job of security people and all the policies, But it is just so ridiculous to expect someone who is traveling , to go to a bar with their passport and risk loosing it in a noisy crowded bar. Every other bar we went to gladly accepted me with my foreign IDs. I encourage management to re-assess this policy, because it is essentially a policy that enforces a “No Foreigners allowed” atmosphere.
First time to this place. The music itself was fire. The atmosphere was great. My friends and I had a great time here. Great spot to chill or dance or whatever your mood is.
This is such a great spot. Pool tables, great crown, great service. I went on a slow night and it was awesome but it looks like it would be so fun and rowdy on a weekend night. Oh, and you can smoke inside.
