Gen really stepped their game up with the premium dinner option!! My biggest complaint prior to my last visit was that the meat seemed like very cheap quality & their dressing on the salad had gotten worse. But I was pleasantly surprised on my last visit. The wagyu, bulgogi & short rib were all deliciously tender. The marinade cajun shrimp was perfectly balanced & our server brought out an extra dish of the maranade which we used on the brisket. The dressing on the salad was better than it had ever been. The kimchi fried rice was cooked perfectly. The rice was nice & Fluffy, the seasoning was hitting. Whoever came up with this idea is a genius because honestly, I had given up on Gen. I only went because my partner wanted to go. & we both said that if it's not good this time, we'll just stick to other kbbq spots. We like quality & don't mind paying extra as long as we get value for our money. My only constructive criticism is that they need more staff. Our server obviously did the best he could. He was juggling MANY tables by himself. Even though they were clearly understaffed, he still managed to get us our banchan & a grill change. I feel like they NEED support staff. Since they have to serve a million side dishes, maybe they would benefit from someone serving it for them. Or a bartender who brings the drinks or an extra busser to pick up dirty dishes as they get set aside so that they don't pile up. Idk how or what they need, but they need SOMETHING 😅 other than that, the premium option was definitely a success, totally worth the $50!!! Next on the list should be premium desserts!
Super good food, waiters could be a bit more attentive, very futuristic vibes inside
Big fan for the dine in all you can eat, this review is only for my take out experience. For a 2 lb uber order of raw beef roll, I only got 1 lb 10 oz with the box. I have no ideas how much I got for previous ones :(
We had quite an experience at Gen Korean Bbq.
It was our first time there. The flavors for everything we ordered were delicious. We didn’t get to try everything on the first visit. It was interesting to cook your own food! The service was great ! The atmosphere was also nice. We got seated fairly quickly with no reservations.. party of 7. Looking forward to our next visit !! 😃🍲🥢
Had a great time at this Korean BBQ spot with friends! The short ribs, Hawaiian steak, and bulgogi were all perfectly marinated and delicious. The interactive grilling experience made it a fun and social night. Plus, the service was fantastic—staff were friendly and attentive. Highly recommend for a fun, tasty night out!
Worst experience in every perspective
1. They served a uncut pork belly
2. Understaffed, our server serves 6 tables, cannot serve our needs
3. Dirty floor
4. The inside feels very hot, with poor ventilation
5. The vent is not working, all smoke come out
This is a very good spot for all you can eat Korean BBQ. The selection of meats is great. You cook your own food. Lots of meat. I wish they have soup though to ease the meat eating. Guaranteed leaving belly full!
Had a fantastic time with great pork belly. Johnson was an amazing server!
Terrible Experience at Gen Korean BBQ!!
I've been to several Gen Korean BBQ locations, but this one was, without a doubt, the worst experience I've ever had.
We were a party of two and asked to switch to another section as soon as we were seated. The server told us the section was closed, yet only a few minutes later, other customers were seated there. This felt dismissive and unfair right from the start.
Then, we ordered all meat dishes but were unexpectedly served pork--which we do not eat. When we questioned the server, she didn't seem to care about the mistake. Thankfully, we caught it before eating, but this could have been easily avoided if she had paid more attention.
We also noticed that we didn't receive the small plates of Banchan, which are standard at other locations. When I asked the server why, she rudely replied that I should be the one to ask for them. I've never had to do that before, and it just added to the poor service experience.
After these incidents, the server completely ignored us. She never checked in to see if we needed anything, and our grill was left unattended, causing our meat to nearly burn. We couldn't even cook the rest of the meat properly because the grill wasn't replaced in time.
I tried multiple times to get the server's attention for a new grill, napkins, and other items, but she blatantly ignored us--even when I called out to her directly. It wasn't just our table either; I noticed she didn't smile or show any basic courtesy to any of the other customers around us. Her attitude was consistently rude and unwelcoming, and it was clear she had no interest in providing decent service.
I usually leave a 20-30% tip when dining out, but this time, I couldn't leave anything due to such disrespectful service. While I don't like calling out specific names, this experience was unacceptable. The server, April S., displayed a level of rudeness that should not be tolerated in customer service. Management at this location needs to address this kind of behavior to prevent further negative experiences. Your servers should know how to treat customers with basic respect--because what we experienced was not even close to that.
I would not recommend this location if you expect even halfway decent service.
This place is good. They will fill you up and it's affordable. You can kinda tell when they are rushing you though. I would go back
I understand customer service, and if a business is packed but that shouldn't stop you from coming and checking if your customer is doing okay. Never going here again
