Good place to hangout in the afternoon

It's a filthy dump. Get your shots before you go. Edit: If you spent half the effort cleaning that you put into your sad responses you'd probably have a higher rating.

The Garrick Hotel Bar is adorned with vintage memorabilia, very cute/quaint and the room has a timeless quality to it. I had a Guinness just before a Jets game. The owner has a vision, a real pub atmosphere. Clean, safe, well staffed and maintained. The regulars all seem like nice people and many quirky characters haunt this downtown Winnipeg gem. I started smiling the first time I walked through the door.

Started coming here about 5 years ago for a few beers before hopping the bus to the Bomber games. Bartenders are always friendly and run a tight ship with respect to potential unruliness so the place has never felt unsafe when we've been there. Drinks are cheap and the bar is very clean. This place has the look and feel of a classic Manitoba beverage room, right down to tall urinals and the pickled egg jar. If you're looking for an unpretentious spot with an eclectic crowd, this is your place.

I saw the news last night of the guy opening the safe that was locked for years. I have not been in the hotel for a number of years. [Retired]. I do have memories of the place from years back. Ran into a guy I used to work for years ago and had a nice chat with the old bloke. Long passed away since then. A slice of pizza was $1.oo, many years ago and it was tasty. Vendor was available. I assume it still is? Time for a return visit, I think. Parking: Unknown.

Been here a few times, both on my own and in a large group. The place reminds me of my small, hometown bar. Great prices, excellent service, a jukebox with good tunes and a cool atmosphere. Most of all, I always feel welcome and safe! This place is definitely a gem of downtown.

Beer was cheap and customer service was on point, the atmosphere was great as well. Will be visiting again. (One little question do you guys rent rooms at all?).
