Really enjoyed the drinks, tapas, and desserts. We will definitely be back.
Some of the best brunch in DC. Omelette was amazing. Dietary restrictions: Very good w dietary issues
I visited Fig and Olive for dinner during the Metro Washington Restaurant Week. The prix fixe menu featured a lot of the great options that they have on their regular dinner menu; and the options from the cocktail menu had a good range of various liquor bases on offer. The service was great. The server for our table was attentive despite being busy with a few tables. For my three courses I had: • Burrata di Bufala • Peppercorn-Crusted Strip Steak • Lemon & Olive Oil Cake I really enjoyed the Burrata di Bufala - it was my first time trying roasted golden beets, and it was much to my delight. The difference in textures and flavours with the beets, honey crisp apple and burrata was delicious. For my main course I opted for the Peppercorn Crusted Strip Steak, which was prepared just as I wanted it. I enjoyed this overall - but I will say I found the roasted veggies a little too salty for my liking. Overall this is a very upscale Mediterranean restaurant in the gorgeous Palmer Alley. Don’t be surprised if you see people having mini photoshoots in the alley - it is a pretty great location for unique pictures with a trendy background.
Some of the best service I've experienced in DC in a long time, and delicious cocktails/wine; but the prices are sky-high (this restaurant is seemingly great for the wealthy weekend shoppers in City Center looking for lunch between stores) and the food was not-so-good. Two friends and I went for restaurant week, and we loved the burrata salads and butternut squash soup. We enjoyed the flank steak enough, but not for an extra $8 when it was arguably a piece of meat over a bed of peppers and onions. The salmon had a stronger fish taste than we were used to, and not cooked to the temperatures we asked for. The service was excellent, our server deserves all the accolades we could ever give her! A friend arrived early and also enjoyed her time at the bar and raved about the dirty martini she ordered. So the staff are excellent. Probably will not go back but glad we tried it once. Kid-friendliness: NOT kid friendly
Food was very expensive for the quality. Vegetarian options: Very limited.
