Absolutely beautiful restaurant located on the first floor of The Claridges Hotel. Amidst a grand crystal chandelier, Thai food is served in perfect authentic fashion . We were 7 dining on a Sunday evening and were met with kind and wonderful service. Each table is give complimentary Thai peanuts, which are a fantastic touch. For drinks we ordered thai beer, Prosecco and a French pinot grigo. All were excellent and complimented the food well. For starters in vegetarian we got 1.char Muang( water chestnut dumplings), they were not very exciting and lacked flavour immensely. 2. Tao hoo(sweet chilli tofu), this was very good, the silken tofu was succulent and immersed in sweet chilli flavour. For non vegetarian appetiser’s:- 1. Hoy Phao(butter garlic scallops), these were exceptional , succulent and delicious 2. Med Mamuang Gai( chicken cashew nut): this was on the sweeter side but definitely worth trying , slightly crispy and flavourful 3.wok tossed pork:- this was the absolute highlight? Most definitely recommend. It was crispy and juicy and bursting with umami flavour. For soup we got the 1.Tom Kha, it was mind and flavourful and leading with lemongrass , great warm start to the meal. We also got the 2. Thai Raw Papaya salad , it was spicy and crisp and gad a vase of sweet chilli, very refreshing. Then coming to mains, for vegetarian, 1.tao hoo hoong (bean curd): this was very light and brothy, accompanied with vegetables is went well with the jasmine rice . Non vegetarian:- 1. Red curry gai : this was a hit, chicken pieces with mushroom zucchini in a spiced coconut broth, perfectly paired with simple steamed rice. 2.Sea Bass Manow:- this lime ginger fish was served whole on a grand dish shaped heated plate with candles under to keep it warm. Very well prepared, however does have a lingering pungent smell . 3.sliced chicken ginger: very very well made. Thinly sliced succulent chicken in a tangy ginger based sauce, paired well with wheat noodles and jasmine rice, would recommend. 4. Lastly we got the special, Nammya Poo- Crab Meat Curry Steamed Rice Noodles. This was the best dish we ordered , delicious coconut curry with soft pieces of crab complimented by the rice noodles, served with some raw papaya salad, most definitely recommend, For dessert we got a chocolate truffle cake as we were celebrating a birthday, from the in-house hotel bakery itself, We also got few desserts, 1.tub Tim grin:- water chestnut jelly with ice balls, tasted a lot like rise milk with gelato. Mildly sweet and delicious. 2.i Tim kalamare:/ seaseme icecream with crushed peanut and banana. :- the icecream was delicious ne was served with some sort of rice( much like poha), however not worth it. 3. Lastly we got tua tad:- a chocolate lava cake, served with orange sorbet. Good but not a highlight. Overall it’s quite overpriced for the quantity but the quality is good. Few downsides:- 1. Though service is very kind , it is very very slow, the food took over 45 minutes to come, we were already finished with our first round of drinks by then. 2. The cloak rooms are not disable friendly, not bar to hold and neither was there any hand faucet.
