Updated review: While I still really enjoy El Encanto, they raised their prices to a point where they are even more expensive than some Austin places. If you're from around there then this is your best spot but since I live in Austin I no longer have the inclination to go there since the price doesn't make it worthwhile for me. My SO lives in Temple so I'm up here a lot but I still can't justify the price. I had to knock off a star. With that said, the food is still stellar. Original review: This unassuming taco truck is a hidden gem in the little town of Academy, TX. We had family in town and wanted to try someplace new to us and we were so happy to find El Encanto. The service there was truly enchanting! I was craving buche and tripas tacos but to my dismay it wasn't listed on the menu but the people there were so kind and made them for me anyway! I was so excited, let me tell ya. It was a cold rainy day so the nice lady gave us the most incredible barracho beans I've ever had, and it was on the house to warm us up! My sister in law ordered bean and cheese tacos and a chicken quesadilla and really liked them. My SO had pastor and carnitas and said they were great too. The green and red salsas were the best I've had from a taco truck. They have earned my business for life. Let's make sure they are well taken care of like they took care of us. Great job El Encanto!
