Had the chicken stew over yellow rice w beans and it was delicious. Nice portion at a nice price. The family is friendly and I'm glad I found a good lunch sport 5 minutes from work.

I just had the white rice and beans with the pork chop. It was so good!!!! This is coming from a Puerto Rican who grew up eating Puerto Rican food. This is definitely a good place! The rice and beans didn't taste oily at all like in other restaurants ive been too. The food really felt like i visited my grandmothers house in PR and she set me up with a little to-go plate to take home. I've been to the spots in Fishkill and Wappingers and for Puerto Rican food, this spot is by far the best one. With any kind of Caribbean restaurants, the food sits out on a hot plate, typically, places like this produce rice and beans that are dry and hard. But not this place! I read other reviews and they may have had a bad batch. Cuz the food I just ate was delicious.

The food really hit the spot. Everything was delicious, just like grandma’s cooking. Arroz con gandules was good, pernil was good, steak and onions was good, amarillos were fresh! We’ll definitely be coming back

So, I decided to stop by and try it out. Looks like the mother was running the show that day. Immediately, I noticed the beef stew tray through the glass was dry. Pork chop tray, chops looked dry. That was a bad sign. The food looked like leftovers from the day before, not fresh, and it was only 11:39 am. In the pernil tray, there was barely any pernil, and no skin left. I decided to give it a shot. I had the Pernil and tostones. Pernil had barely any flavor. I was shocked. I have never had bland pernil. The tostones were the thinnest I have ever seen in my life. She must have used about 1/3 of ONE plantian and sliced it super thin to get the most out of it. I asked for mojito, and she said she didn't have anymore. how do you run out of mojito? So I had plain, dry plantains. It was like having plantains chips. My honest opinion; I am very disappointed in the food. There is absolutely no love and/or pride put into the cooking. The lady was very sweet, that was about it. My opinion comes from experience, being a cook, and being puerto rican myself.

Terrible food. Ordered lunch steak & onions with yellow rice & peas, and pernil & with same yellow rice. The rice was awful like one of the reviews says: “who messes up rice!”-bland, it tasted reheated and mixed with pegao! the pernil was dry & tasteless and also appeared not made fresh that day/ lastly the steak ($12 ) was the absolute worse - it was made in a pressure cooker , sliced, had no taste or seasoning and covered with vinegary onions which then resulted in bland dark dry pieces of cheap flank or hangar steak. I wanted to like this place but I can’t in good conscience- my order went in the garbage. They may be a nice family but I’m going there for the food - it is apparent they have no culinary training or skills. And people claiming this food reminds them of their Abuelita- I challenge you if she is alive to bring her the pernil or please, the steak & onions. I promise you there is a chancleta with your name on it coming your way. Be guided accordingly- the food is not palatable.
